A number three batsman should be a Rock of Gibraltar.  Marnus is an eroding sand dune  :(

Why the fark is Konstas being chastised for last night? All he did was react to Bomrahs reactions (typical from the Kings of drama and demonstrative behaviour). DO NOT STIFLE this kids attitude and approach. Sure he lost his wicket just then but fark it, take the game and the opposition on.
2021-Pi$$ or get off the pot
2022- Real Deal or more of the same? 0.6%
2023- "Raise the Standard" - M. Voss Another year wasted Bar Set
2024-Back to the drawing boardNo excuses, its time

As for Konstas's more established colleagues, disgraceful (Usy, Marnus and Head).

Interesting

Fresh evidence has emerged following one of the biggest flashpoints of the series which casts serious doubt over whether Usman Khawaja should have been given out on the last ball of the day.
Social media clips have highlighted that KL Rahul’s catch to get rid of Khawaja off the bowling of a fired-up Jasprit Bumrah appears questionable on closer examination.
Although Rahul took the catch at knee level, he then in the one motion falls to his knees and his left hand holding the ball makes contact with the ground as he supports himself to get back up and join in celebrations.

Loony bin stuff, GTC. How long did he have to lie on the ground before he uses the ball to help himself up? Everyone knows it was out - full control.

Khawaja was out ... as was Kohli.  The batsman should get the benefit of the doubt so Kohli getting a life is fair enough.

As for our batters; plenty of starts, but ...

The Starc one looked decidedly iffy if you ask me.
9iss and moan about tight catches but aren't above claiming them either.  Drama queens.

Webster showing that there's a quality cricketers out there that aren't from NSW... That was inexcusable Steve.

Thought Pant showed a bit of fight in this test after his previous casual efforts.
We battered poorly and I wouldn't want to be chasing over 200 in the second dig, hopefully Bumrah can't bowl or bowls under duress.
Konstas has to play with more technique and understand the game situation has to dictate how aggressive you can be , the odds vs good bowlers don't favor park cricket sloggers and while I like his fight he has to bat smarter or we need to look at some other openers who can survive without throwing their wicket away.

Steve trying to take a hero catch when it was going straight down Usman's throat resulted in another plastering job tomorrow.

Konstas isn't our problem, it's Khawaja, Marnus and Head, all walking wickets.
Carey is another who makes always makes runs...but never big runs.  If a better batsman/keeper shows up, you wonder if he keeps his place.

Smith had to go for that catch, and it’s a reflex action.  If Smith and Khawaja had been more widely spaced, Smith couldn’t have got near it and it would still have gone straight to Khawaja.

Will he play in the Test championship vs Sth Africa at Lords in June or will he miss out again? I think our selectors will stick with the NSW attack and Boland will be the drinks waiter again.
