He was a stand in for Grigg really, but those rules have changed and the Grigg option is dead in the water now, and rightly so!At the moment I think our club has it's list in a bit of a pickle, I realise some won't think this because they see the potential for a few nice forwards and mids, but that won't help us if we start getting smashed in the ruck contests. We got a glimpse of that last season when Pittonet had his form slump. FFS, do not ruck Harry!Yeah he can ruck but we'd prefer he was not required. I'd have gone for Corey Gault from Swan Districts. Reads the game so well and has a fair-dinkum dip. You can just tell he loves the club.Yes, Jack certainly gives it his all but he still has to get the pill and impact the scoreboard. He was playing as our second key forward, and that's a big ask, but he really didn't look threatening and was too easily beaten by his opponent. He took two marks, dropped two he should have held, had three kicks, one directly to an opponent, four handballs (three ineffective and one for a goal assist) and laid two tackles. It pains me to say it, but McGovern is a better option in that role.I'm not sure what this says about Moore but on two occasions, Cripps took over the ruck duties from him and took clean possession. It probably says more about Wright's lack of strength, not to mention the fact that Cripps is taller and heavier than Moore. Still, Moore looks far more capable in the ruck than McDonald. Just a preference. I tend to agree. Moore is versatile and has a real crack. The problem is that he seems to misjudge the flight of the ball. If he can sort that out, he'd be worth persevering with for another season. Quote Selected

Not a good enough ruck, forward or back even as backup. He played seniors last season and couldn’t get a touch was flicked by Richmond because he wasn’t good enough take the hint “ He’s not AFL standard” Try someone else, anyone else. Moore is probably seen as an allrounder who you can plug several holes with unlike McDonald who is really only proven down back. Both are very poor excuses for backup ruckman IMHO. These SSP spots should be for interstate league players/players that were previously injured/too young and are now fully developed or 19 year olds not re-tread AFL types. Quote Selected

Maybe you should let Nick Austin know. We have four train-on players - Moore, McDonald, Crocker and Maher. The last list spot is likely to come from that four players. I'd be happy to look outside that group myself. I am not a big Callum Moore fan but McDonald is a flake. Paul Bower type very average defender. He's tall but struggles on big forwards and seems to lack awareness, even down back. Crocker is handy and we do have some forwards on our list but I think he is more specialist small/medium forward compared to many hybrid types we have. Maher I don't know much about but we have so many unproven young midfielders on our list that I am unsure we need another. Having said this, if the Club feels Maher is the best candidate for the final position then fine but I think we need some balance here also. Quote Selected 1 Likes

Insurance to cover a possible injury to KP stocks or the "best" player in terms of talent who may go on to bigger and better things? I'm not at all sure about that. Quote Selected

I'm not at all sure about that. That's the question and I don't think the Club knows either.Perhaps we should hold off adding anyone until mid year, or go 'best available' now and add a more specific required player mid year should be get a LTI.
