Docherty and Bolton had an extended conversation at the end of the game.
You would like to think Bolton was saying something along the lines of "I'm sorry I was a stupid, dickhead showpony"
Docherty looked like he was acknowledging what we hope was an apology of sorts.
Jack Riewoldt went to Bolton not long after the goal and had a stern conversation with him over it.

.....and he was literally the only one from the entire list....and he's been very much out of form.

Alternatively our Key defender depth chart looks like this....
Starters....
Weitering
McDonald
McGovern
- all 3 were our first picked in R1, all 3 injured now.

Backups...
Young
Marchbank
Parks
Durdin

In case of emergency....
Williamson
Kemp
Akieu ?
? ? ?

....and of course we lost Liam Jones last year.

...but yes, they were missing Dusty.

I also forgot parks......who is also injured.

At a pinch, we have 10 players capable of impersonating a key back.
Of those 10, 8 of them are injured!

Young is one, who's the second kruddler?

Yes, lost Jones, and even Levi would be most useful. Could have rucked after losing Pitto, forward after we lost McKay, or back after we lost nearly everyone.

Go back a few posts.
Kemp is all we have left.

I saw him in the list but didn't realise he's a tall defender. Much less a KPP.

Who would have guessed that a team that has had 3 senior coaches in the last 5 years looks a bit inconsisent?

Not to mention wholesale changes to the list and every department of the club. Including the foundations. Literally.

Basically he's not, and neither is Williamson, but that's basically how desperate we are.

If I added plowman to the list he'd be our next tallest defender at 190cm. He basically plays on smalls, but is our next best bet

I'm well aware of our injuries. Imagine our 95 side without Silvagni, Sexton and Dean.

I have to say, although we didn't get the 4 points on Thursday night, we managed to get off the floor twice with a seriously undermanned side.  IMO, if Newnes' snap wasn't touched, we would have won - had all the momentum.

It does seem there is significant belief among this group, something that hasn't been in Navy Blue for a long time.  If we hang in there for a win or two over the next month, and then get some troops back, anything could happen.
This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?
