Re: Jim Park Voting 2022 AFL Rd 15 Carlton vs Fremantle Reply #3 – June 25, 2022, 10:41:49 pm Team A+ Best Win Of The Year3 Walsh - Outstanding.2 TDK - Special talent. Let's go after his brother2 Charlie - At the end of the day he kicks the goals and we win.2 Doc - The fairy-tale continues1 Saad - Eating humble pie about this bloke for a while now and will be for many more years I think1 Cottrell - Playing as if his career depended on it, and it is1 Jack - If there was and underrated award in the AFL he would be leading it.1 Cripps - A lazy 22 but 5 tackles and 8 clearances1 Fish - He is without doubt the smartest player on out team (when he's on)1 Kennedy - Like Cripps, 4 tackles and 8 clearances Quote Selected

Re: Jim Park Voting 2022 AFL Rd 15 Carlton vs Fremantle Reply #6 – June 26, 2022, 09:18:22 am Team - A (in the entire time we've been doing this, I don't recall ever giving an A)5 - Walsh4 - TDK2 - Docherty2 - Hewett2 - SaadHM: Every single other player. Special mention: JSOS, Crippa, H's work when not marking or goaling, Charles, Kemp against the odds, wingers work rate, Bam Bam's return to best form, small forwards pressure and deft linking (Fisher's best game, Honey's sublime hand offs)... etc. Quote Selected Last Edit: June 26, 2022, 09:31:25 am by Baggers 2 Likes
Re: Jim Park Voting 2022 AFL Rd 15 Carlton vs Fremantle Reply #7 – June 26, 2022, 10:39:09 am Rating: A+One of the better games we’ve played this century, let alone this year. We came back from adversity to beat a contender into total submission with half our team sitting in the stands. Votes:[3] Sam Walsh[1.5] Sam Docherty[1.5] Adam Saad[1] Zac Fisher[1] Tom de Koning[1] Jack Silvagni[1] George Hewett[1] Matthew Kennedy[1] Charlie Curnow[0.5] Patrick Cripps[0.5] Jack Newnes[0.5] Lochie O’Brien[0.5] Matthew Cottrell[0.5] Nick Newman[0.5] Jordan BoydExplanations:Warning: these votes are severely undervalued, even with an A+ rating. It was not possible to express just how good we were with 15 votes.[3] Sam Walsh: We’ve always known what sort of player we got when we recruited Sam Walsh, but if the idiots, like Kane Cornes, can’t admit we got the best from his draft, then there is no help for them. 40 possessions and 7 clearances says it all.[1.5] Sam Docherty: Doc is having a brilliant year, and his ability to out-work his opponents is staggering.[1.5] Adam Saad: Saad keeps impressing. How Essendon must hurt to see him playing this way week in, week out.[1] Zac Fisher: One of Fisher’s best games, and probably his best ever numbers. Fisher was dynamic and added real pace to our centre breaks.[1] Tom de Koning: Tom has been down of late, but he rose to the occasion like a phoenix. He managed to reduce his opponent’s effectiveness and produce some of the best pieces of play it is possible for an AFL team to produce.[1] Jack Silvagni: Jack was excellent today. 10 marks and a goal doesn’t tell you how significant he was in almost everything he did.[1] George Hewett: Another strong effort from George in the middle.[1] Matthew Kennedy: Not quite the form he was displaying earlier in the season, but still a damned good game.[1] Charlie Curnow: Charlie was ordinary early, not holding his marks and fumbling badly. But the longer the game went on, the more effective he became, both in the air and on the ground.[0.5] Patrick Cripps: Cripps was brilliant early, but faded. He still had 5 tackles, 5 marks, 8 clearances and more. Any other player would be satisfied with a game like that, but Crippa will only try to do better.[0.5] Jack Newnes: Celebrated his 200th game in style. Not as flashy as some of the others, but the job got done again and again.[0.5] Lochie O’Brien: Looking at O’Brien today you could see the growth in his game. No longer shirking contests, he did a lot more than just run. His 2 goals were a fitting reward for his workrate.[0.5] Matthew Cottrell: Cottrell is another whose growth as a player sticks out like a sore thumb. His possessions were cleaner, his running was harder and his results spike for themselves.[0.5] Nick Newman: Nick had another solid day in the office today. His opponents could count their possessions on one hand and have left over fingers.[0.5] Jordan Boyd: Another player whose growth this year has been impressive. His disposal was good, but it was his run, his pace to break the lines that stood out. Not the player we saw running around early in the season.Honourable Mentions:Brodie Kemp: Had a difficult job and did it. He managed 17 possessions and did the job.Lewis Young: Started like a house on fire, but faded somewhat. Still, he had the job on a huge player and he slaughtered him.Harry McKay: H didn’t have a great game, but he could have had 5 goals and had 5 good tackles. The others all contributed. Honey, Durdin and Motlop all had some good patches and showed promise, but all three can be better. Quote Selected Last Edit: June 26, 2022, 10:41:35 am by crashlander
