@Lods I see Gout was given a reality check over in Olso at the Diamond League event. All part of the kids learning experience I guess.

Yep,
I'd imagine he's been in a hard block of training leading up to heading for Europe and the World juniors in the USA in August.
It's essentially his first run of a new season so I'm not overly concerned.
It'd be more an issue if the World's were next week but he still has 5-6 weeks to go.

I'd expect that time will come down considerably in the next few outings as he tapers so he's at his peak for Oregon.
Nothing of course is guaranteed, but hopefully it was just a race to blow the cobwebs out.

On a positive note Kurtis Marschall had his second Pole Vault Diamond League win for the week and Ky Robinson ran 12:50.82 for Robinson to beat  Craig Mottrams 2004 5000 metre record. by around 5 seconds.

Best performance for the last few days wasn't at the Diamond League.
It was this bloke at the prelims at the NCAA championships

Much better by Gout Gout last night.
In a 150 metre race Gout finished 3rd behind Noah Lyles who set a new world best over 150 metres (14.67.)
Gout's time was 14.96 which was a new Australian best and just shy of the old world best of 14.92.

At the same meet
Peter Bol had a win and set a new Oceania record of 2:15.13 for the 1000 meters.
