AFLW List Management 2026

Yes, it is that time of year again, when players get moved on.
We've announced 3 changes today:
[1] Tarni Brown: daughter of Collingwood's ..., we traded for Tarni a couple of drafts back. She played most games last season, but has a 'medical condition' (unspecified), which left her off the park this years. She has decided to retire, as she doesn't think she can perform at the highest level any longer.
[2] Eliza Wood: our VFL Captain this year, she was promoted when Kerryn Peterson took a year off to have a baby. She didn't manage a senior game this year, mainly die to senior injury. I have no idea if she will go back to our VFL side or not, as her knee will take some time to recover from.
[3] Charlotte Brewer: another SSP selection, replacing Eliza Wood when she got injured. Charlotte didn't play a game this year.

It will be interesting to see if Kerryn Peterson returns. She had her baby in August.

Already there have been rumours of young talent from elsewhere looking to come here.

Unlike the mens team, there is real optimism with list changes and 'the place to be'.
Not one person wants out, yet everyone wants in.

Wonder who we will target

Time to create this thread, ready for the trade and draft period.
Something says we don't like the years women's crop much better than we liked the 2025 men's cohort; we've traded out our 1st and 3rd round picks.
Instead, it looks like we're going to be an aggressive trader.

Out:
[1] Kerryn Peterson:
A hard call, but we do seem to be going young. And a lot of girls want to be in our colours. The question will be, is it a year early? Possibly. But better to go out before you get dropped.

[2] Tarni Brown:
After an excellent first season with us, Tarni has struggled and wasn't available this season at all. She pulled the pin, thinking that she'd never get back to her best again. A pity, but there it is.

[3] Charlotte Brewer:
The replacement of the replacement, Charlotte never really got a chance to show off her wares, not with Jess Good in career best form.

[4] Eliza Wood:
Our VFL captain, who originally replaced Kerryn Peterson, but who then had an ACL. Hope to see her back in VFL ranks at some stage.

For all that, it didn't open many spots on our list.
We have been linked to 4 or 5 young ladies at this point, so it will be interesting to see who we manage to land.

Someone please merge this with the one I'd already made; the it doesn't want to let me do it.

This deal will see Claudia Whitford and Lauren Bella land at Carlton for Pick 19 and the F2 that's tied to North Melbourne. All agreed and lodged.

26yo Midfielder and 25yo ruck. Should both be in our best 21.

Will be interesting to see what we do with Good and Harrington here.
I know there has been some interest around Good who just lost her best mate Kez. Good is also 31, so could be beneficial to cash in now. Bree is still only 28 with a bit of footy ahead of her, could also be moved forward after Bohanna retires who is 30.
