We're down at 3/4 time, but we kicked 3 - 16 - 34
19 scoring shots for 3 goals.

Have we gone a whole off-season without kicking the football?

Perhaps the 'alarmist' youtube video was right.

Final score:
Carlton: 6 - 22 - 58
Footscray: 12 - 7 - 79

We had so many more shots, but bad kicking is bad football. :(

Cowan may have been reported. :(  >:D

Hmmm...........goal kicking aside, anyone show some form worthy of promoting to the firsts?
Such as Camporeale boys, Wade Derksen, Taylor Byrne, Flynn Young, Hudson O'Keeffe, Jordan Boyd ?

No report as yet. Some of the guys on BF were not impressed by the game or many of our players.

Despite the scoreboard, there were names positively mentioned in that summary that we should buoyed by: Boyd, Byrne, Camporeale boys, Carroll, Cowan and Young. Good, also, that Acres got some game time.

Yes, we were clearly the better team. There seems to be a mini trend where both AFL and VFL teams play good footy and cannot capitalize.

That pre-season meme about kicking sideways has got into their head, they are making it real!

They need a psychologist, not a coach, or they will become victims of their own doubt!

CARLTON             2.8       2.9       3.16      6.22 (58)
FOOTSCRAY       4.1       8.4       10.6      12.7 (79)

GOALS
Carlton: Young, Harvey, Magor, Ison, Carroll, Gresham

What worries me:
[1] HOK looks like he is starting the year poorly. His marking has dropped off and his ruck work has regressed. That is a pity, as he has a better leap than Pitto or Reidy. His contested marking last year was very good.
This means we don't get 1st dibs as often as I'd like.

[2] We don't seem to be able to keep guys at the club. That means we always start the year with a significant getting-to-know-you phase. Now that we've got Tucker, I hope he can hand around for a while. Similarly with guys like Hogg.

[3] With a lack of key forwards in the ones, we're going to have similar problems with the 2's.

Hopefully that worm will turn.

In every sport where the results arent going your way the in game trends are more important.  In this one better kicking for goal and its a landslide win.

That wasn't true of our seniors the other night but we'll see.
