George Hewett: 29 possessions, 9 clearances, 9 tackles.
Cooper Lord: 31 possessions, 5 clearances, 11 tackles.
Blake Acres: 31 possessions, 2 clearances, 2 tackles.

I would promote all three plus Flynn Young - there will be plenty of options for omission.

CARLTON RESERVES     1.6     7.8     10.13       11.19 (85)
COLLINGWOOD VFL     0.4     0.6      5.7           7.12 (54)

GOALS
Carlton: Ison 2, Moir 2, Young 2, Cottrell, Fogarty, O’Keeffe, Riley, Tucker

BESTS
Carlton: Acres, Saad, Young, Lord, Hewett, Charleson

[1] Lucas C has a quiet one: 13 possessions, 6 tackles and 1 point.
On the other hand, Ben had 27 possessions, 5 tackles, 4 points and 3 clearances.
Lucas was playing a different role, with Chesser and Acres on the wings for most of the night.

[2] Adam Saad: 25 disposals, with 13 handballs - something I don't mind seeing.
Harry Charleson: 23 disposals
Billy Wilson: 21 disposals

Lucas went off injured before 1/2 time, I don't recall him returning.

We kicked 4 goals in the second half to 7 of Collingwoods who were goalless at half time. Considering the gulf in class a very dissapointing end to the game.
We limp over the line, that game was there to win by 15 goals, we never for it anymore.

We manage, went don't dominate!

He copped a massive hit to the body that had him throwing up at one stage.
He came off walking hunched up, like a rib injury.

I think he did come back on late

He definitely returned. They played well just inaccurate infront of goal. Ben had 0.4.

Absolutely.

But we had more shots on goal in the 2nd half... just couldn't hit the side of a barn! The only time they got a hold of us was late in the 3rd when they kicked 3 unanswered goals.

Plenty of positives to take out of that win. Plenty of blokes putting their hands up for senior selection. Acres, Hewett, Lord and Young chief among them. I also liked Billy Wilson's game and that Flynn Riley is worth having a good look at, some potential there.

Saad had plenty of ball, but he seemed a yard or two slower than usual and I'm not sure he impacted to any great extent.
Wilson did some nice things with his run and penetrating kicking but he also spent a bit of time 'waxing' with Boyd coming out of defense which probably inflated both their figures.
I'm not sure either did enough to force their way into the side for next week.

I'd hope Harry Charleson could get a game at senior level at some stage, just to see how he goes.
He's an honest type of footballer, does his job, and gets plenty of ball but he's out of contract at the end of the year so he has to make the most of this season or he'll be amongst the "most likely".

Moir is such a frustrating player...he has the ability to make the 'classy' look easy, but we don't see it often enough.
I don't think there is a lot of difference in the way he plays at VFL and Senior level. He should be much more 'impactful' down here.

On the other hand...Hewett and Lord are both a level above this competition and showed it.
But we can't fit Hewett into the senior side...how do we fit both, who play a similar style
And then you add in Ben Camporeale.
Ben would be a chance, if his disposal was better.
None of them have 'Flash' like qualities.

I really like Flynn Riley as a ruckman...but we've got a trio so I doubt we'll be adding him at any stage.
The thing is, when our ruck guys go back to the VFL, Riley is forced out of the side...and that disadvantages the VFL side.

We kicked 6 goals 2 behinds in the second quarter and 5 goals 17 in the rest of the match. Missed a lot of gettable goals just as we did on Thursday night. It is a different game when you kick your goals, hit your targets with foot and hand and don't fumble the ball. If we could do the simple things well a lot of our problems would go away.

Tough night for the Campo's. Lucas is in hospital with a lacerated kidney and Ben is in concussion protocols.

I thought Lucas went back on after the incident.
I hope I'm wrong.
