Jim Park Voting AFL Rd 10 2026 Carlton vs Western Bulldogs

Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos:
[1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Sam Walsh or Patrick Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

AFL Rd 10 2026   Carlton vs Western Bulldogs
After the Week from Hell, we responded in the best way against a team that was premiership favourite not long ago. Yes, they’ve lost some players, but that’s been us for more than 20 years! You can only play who is on the park: we did and we beat them soundly.
Team:      B+
What a difference when we play four quarters.

Votes:
This week 15 votes is not enough. But that is what we have to share around.

[2]   Patrick Cripps
[2]   Ollie Florent
[2]   Lachie Cowan
[1.5]   Matt Carroll
[1.5]   Jagga Smith
[1]   Nic Newman
[1]   Sam Walsh
[1]   Ollie Hollands
[0.5]   Harry McKay
[0.5]   Jack Ison
[0.5]   Billy Wilson
[0.5]   Will Hayward
[0.5]   Marc Pittonet
[0.5]   Zac Williams

Explanations:
[2]   Patrick Cripps:      When it mattered, Cripps was brilliant. 29 possessions, 8 clearances, 2 goals, 5 tackles. Excellent!
[2]   Ollie Florent:      Ollie Florent’s best game, not just in the number of possessions, but how he went about it. He wanted it so badly, it was clear. He marked well, made interceptions and generally was a huge barrier to the Dogs.
[2]   Lachie Cowan:   Lachie’s best game for the year by some margin. Some of his defensive work was magnificent!
[1.5]   Matt Carroll:      Not huge possessions, but was more than useful and kicked 3 excellent goals. His first two really lifted the team.
[1.5]   Jagga Smith:      Back to his best. Lots of ball, lots of damage.
[1]   Nic Newman:      Not yet back to his best, but he is improving. Did a nice job today.
[1]   Sam Walsh:      A fair bit of the ball, but not as damaging as he can be.
[1]   Ollie Hollands:      Like a few others, he did have huge numbers, but it was what he did to get them. His gut running was lovely to watch.
[0.5]   Harry McKay:      The most effective forward on the ground, he also did well in his time in the ruck.
[0.5]   Jack Ison:      We have found one here.
[0.5]   Billy Wilson:      After a poor start, Billy really lifted.
[0.5]   Will Hayward:      An almost game for Hayward. Loved his hard work.
[0.5]   Marc Pittonet:      Won the ruck battle, even with the umpires.
[0.5]   Zac Williams:      Nice things.

Honourable Mentions:
Ben Ainsworth:      Most weeks this sort of game would have got votes. Not huge numbers, but it is how he works, how he kicks goals and what he does to bring the team up.
Nick Haynes:         Most weeks he would have got more than 1 vote. A shaky start, but he came back hard and was very effective when it mattered.
Harry Dean:         Apart from one terrible error, Dean was excellent.
Frankie Evans:      Nowhere near his best yet, but he is working hard.
Adam Cerra:         More effective by foot this week. Not fantastic, but contributed well.
