Chiming in from Edinburgh. The disappointment and the fury are palpable from here.
I didn't expect to win with a battered list but hoped we'd make turn up. Sounds like our performance was sub-par from selection day on. Pretty sure we've developed a new disadvantage for ourselves in that respect.
Hi Bluebaggers I'm briefly chiming in from Delft, Netherlands. I have patchy internet access for a while, so will be scanning your comments with great interest.
I have no idea what our squad will look like or how it will perform at the Gabba. What I do know is that our best is good enough. That assumes we have enough fit and firing"regular" starters on the team sheet.
What a roller coaster 🤯 I didn't think we'd win and was ok with the effort overall. How often have the Tigers smalls delivered our rears on a plate?
Some good signs from a couple of the kids again. It will be great for them to be exposed to finals antics. Not that I'm expecting more than 1 final.
Unfortunately, there were too many passengers today. Against a club that would have been revelling in our hideous injury woes.
Recover. Reset the mind. Give it your best in 2 weeks. Hopefully we'll have a few more selection options. When you're down to debutants on the sideline at the pointy end, the odds are heavily stacked against you.
I don't underestimate any team including the Saints. They're in good form and more than capable of doing a number on us. Butler, Membrey, Higgins and Sinclair often show us up.
We, on the other hand are constantly juggling the line-up due to the injury curse.
I think it'll be won in the coaches box. What a distasteful situation 🤢 given the coaching dynamics.
If Vossy can evoke our collective competitve beast for 4q. Aka the hunter. We're in with a chance. Whilst always hopeful, I'm not confident.
George has been a very important and unheralded piece of this side for a while, why he was dropped this year...
A mystery that perplexed many. If a mid might have benefited from a rest, it's Walshy IMO. He's been belted and double tagged. Subsequently getting caught and perhaps hurt, repeatedly.
Unbelievable backs to the wall type victory. Never thought we had it in us. Momentum is a wonderful thing. Let's hope we've got enough of it to continue on into September.
X2 I'm pleasantly surprised and in awe of this group. Hats off to the leadership and never say die attitude. What a superb initiation for young Binns, Lorde, and Moir. They really matched the commitment of the seniors. I don't think there were any passengers. That’s what it takes 👏🏼
Injured in the past 2 weeks: 4 fwds, 1 mid, 1 winger, and 2 hbs.
If we lacked connection and communication last week, as Weiters suggests, it's a mountain too high to rectify that with mass changes. Not to mention having players across every line that have never played together.
We've got mine and Buckley's. WC by 40 (open to being wrong)
We need blokes like H and Charlie to wear ultra-stretchy jumpers, sure opponents can grab them easier but it sticks out like dog's ballz to the umpire!
The skin tight kit shizen is wrong thinking, it's a generalisation, suits some positions and players, is exactly wrong for others!
Thank God that's over. A game seemingly tailor made for the Craig McRae windscreen wiper analogy - just wipe it away, forget about it and move on. I can't see what there is to review. On second thought, I can - for the last 3 quarters, everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. The End.
Good summary.
The only words that comes to mind right now. Destitute. Despair. Disaster.
