Robert Heatley Stand / Re: 2018 Rd 1 Post Game Party: Carlton vs Richmond
Agree re tunnelling, happened more than a few times, including a bizarre one in the forward pocket when Cotchin got a free kick for tunnelling???
That was so blatant yet the ump missed it

Ladies Lounge / Re: Blues v Doggies - R4
Girls must start 5, 6, 5 before the ball is bounced. (backs/mids/forwards)
New directive to stop flooding back.
Only happens at centre bounces.
Thanks for explaining.

Ladies Lounge / Re: AFLW Round 3: Carlton vs Brisbane at Ikon
We missed Davey last night.
We missed her run, carry and penetrating kicking coming out of the backline.
Lions just built a wall 30m behind the ball and caught everything we tried to clear. Thats why the coach said to be patient and go wide to get around the wall. We were better, but not good enough.
Didn't help that we lost 2 runners in Gee and Brazzale.
Not sure why everyone is writing us off, we were on top of the ladder before this game, and still =1st. Not bad considering we are playing without our coach, captain and last years captain for one reason or another.
The greatest difference between the two teams was our very poor kicking. We were extremely poor at hitting a target, chose the wrong option, lacked penetration, panicked kicked -not selecting a team-mate but simply blasting away. Time and again our kickers thought that they could kick further than they actually could and the ball was easily cut off by Brisbane. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Notice Board (Visitors Enter Here) / Re: Future of the footy forum
No longer living just a dropkick and 2 pints from the ground as I did a few decades ago they give a far more interesting picture than the club reports. (I miss Bluesgirl who gave incredible reports.)
My thanks to all of you for a great site, one that I would miss terribly if it was shut down

Blah-Blah Bar / Re: RIP Drew Morphett
Same. An old school commentator that could teach the current crop of BT, Darcy etc. a thing or two.
RIP
Drew was my absolute favourite commentator. He drew (pun unintended) the picture around the game, without screeching or trying to be the star of the game. VALE Drew.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Leaders; Bolton's view
That's because his shoulder is stuffed and he probably shouldn't be playing at all. I guess he believes that his team mates need him or he would have pulled the pin on the season and gone in for surgery.
I think that you are a glass half full person while I may be a glass half empty

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Leaders; Bolton's view
I think that is very harsh on a kid in his second season, you judge his actions on assumptions you draw about his injuries.I have noted him going to ground several times and showing great pain while the game is going on around him only to get up in a little while and then continue play. It is not courage or he would be up straight away knowing his team-mates need him.
Great Article about Carlton, Murphy and our Future;
States this about Weiters this year;

Give it to Docherty till Weitering is ready.

NOT WEITERING! He is quick to go down AND stay down! A bit of a hypochondriac I think. I want a robust leader!

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Rd 22: Post Game Peace? Carlton vs Hawthorn
Fraser Murphy (169 cms)?I thought that it was Fraser walking with Sticks but this was a little bald block in the background.
Or was it a leprechaun?

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Rd 18: Post Game Pandemonium: Carlton vs Brisbane
It was bad - but we played worse.
It was terrible. Many times I rose to my feet to question a lack of a decision in Carlton's favour and I only recall two occasions where Lions supporters did the same. Yet they rose to their feet for every goal they scored. The lack of AFL news up here is staggering. We certainly haven't won the hearts and minds of the locals. The Gary Pert decision made the seventh back page of today's paper and that included the Toby Greene suspension. I am guessing that it was front or back page in Victoria - just because of the Collingwood prejudice. There is no other AFL news. I have had to resort to the internet for anything else pertaining to AFL.
