Would love to know what Gibbs' role or purpose has been tonight. He has no opponent at stoppages yet has had no impact.

6 clearances (most for Carlton, 3rd most on the ground)
23 possessions (most for Carlton, =4th on ground)
10 contested possessions (=most for carlton, =3rd on ground)
10 tackles (most on ground)
4 inside 50's (=most for carlton, =3rd on ground)

No Impact you say....doesn't say much for the rest of the players.

100 pts on the cards against a bottom 4-6 side.   No youth.

Jones and Tutt are now confirmed Dud selections.

You've got about 16 other players to look at before you get to the forwards. Our midfield has not laid a glove on them for 3 quarters.

The forwards are the least of our worries. The one area of the team we don't need to complain about as they've actually been very efficient. When the ball only gets there once every half hour they are not the players you want to be singling out for anything.

The problem with that is, if Jamo's opponent holds first, and doesn't get caught, it almost guarantees that Jamo will be beaten.

If they are both holding, it SHOULD be an even contest.

IF what you say is true, doesn't matter what he does he is disadvantaged.

Not disadvantaged, just stopped getting away with it last year, and that has carried into this year, so even if he should get the free, unless it's blatant by his opponent, he won't.

And what I am saying IS true.

Actually Ellard has done a very good job on Hurn. They get a lot of drive from him and Ellard has held him down well and managed to get a goal himself.
Since quarter time even God couldn't have done any better in our forward line. It just hasn't got there.

You can quote his stats all night.

How effective and what influence has he had on the game is what counts.

Answer to both
ZERO

No youth is a bit harsh.

You can add in No senior players and no middle tier players as well. ;)

We need to drop anyone in the midfield who is incapable of applying pressure when we don't have the ball.
That would account for about half of JKs goals right there.

In some ways Gibbs has been our most effective player. That is frightening, because he hasn't had a great night. But he can put his hand out for his pay packet without feeling embarrassed.

We definitely look a lot worse than last year in terms of poor spirit and susceptibility to capitulation. We just look mentally shot, and I mean totally.
