Cripps breaks clearance records. Polson plays his best game for the Blues Silvagni took a nice mark Harry continues to impress but lacks good service....
Weight of midfield numbers beat us in the end, with the benefit of hindsight Kerridge might have given us that extra strong body which we lacked. Our back six was good considering the pressure they were under, Simpson in particular was superb and Byrne is very impressive for so few games, with Docherty, Plowman and Jones available next year our defence is looking very solid. Kennedy and Fisher, and maybe Cunningham eventually, will bolster our midfield but we'll need to draft another one, and beg, buy or borrow a small forward or two.
That number 1 pick was a lock a long time ago. That said, looking forward to seeing TDK have a run around....I'm guessing still pretty raw but worth a punt and let Harry McKay play as a permanent forward? Polsen has done an amazing job at holding his spot in the team given he's done SFA for most games.
He kicked an amazingly flukey goal against Hawthorn and in the same game chipped a nice pass to Harry McKay, so far that's all she wrote.
Graham and Kerridge can both play in the midfield, not very well admittedly, and Pickett struggles to get a kick but is quick. So with those three out we pick Mullett, Weitering and an up and coming ruckman in his first game. It's a very slow side.
We should see what Lin Jong is doing next year, he's a tidy footballer and wouldn't carry a huge price tag, he'd be a definite upgrade on a few of our marginals like Lamb, Kerridge and Graham.
Yeah, not sure Libba snr would be welcome around the club.
Libba jnr i'm not a real fan of either, but him and his mate Wallis would certainly fill a roll at the club....blue collar workers.
Could do worse...
I'm not interested in either of them, we're building something special and the last thing we need is a couple of disgruntled blow ins with attitude and an inflated opinion of themselves.
I won't judge Pickett until next year when he has s full pre-season and full year. Never judge a half fit player. Showed plenty when he got his chance last year and it is what we expect to see when he is fit and going.
He had a full pre season this year, he injured his hand which shouldn't have affected his aerobic fitness at all and he's now been back playing for six or seven weeks. I hope he steps up next season but the signs aren't promising in my opinion.
