Going to get a bit of rain over here Tomorrow and Saturday. Storms. Might continue to Sunday, so could be a grind in the wet again which helps us again.
I'm 1 for 1 this year in Games attended, will be hoping to make it 2 from 2.
Give Cunningham the job on Stevens...he either does well and makes the transition from VFL to senior player or at worst he gets an education....I like Smedts but he is the player I would omit...
I really like Smedts as well. Didn't think i would. Didn't impact the game last Saturday, but i like what he can bring around the ball.
Nick Graham stays 100%. Busted his ass in the 2's to earn a recall and playing more than serviceable role at the moment. The message is clear, play well and get a game and it shows by bringing form players into the 1's.
He is providing a great link man around teh contest (10 marks) which I prefer as he runs all day, but is a bit slow of mind in and around the contest. Pushing forward nicely as well and finding space.
If Daisy Thomas does nothing more of note in a Carlton jumper, I'll always love him for his goal in the last term. Last quarter, against his old side, game on the line, in front of their feral Cheer Squad and on ther 125th Anniversary Celebrations.. Knife stuck firmly through their hearts... The ultimate insult to them, and a job well done!!
I was really pleased for him and cheered the loudest I had all game... loved his celebration and the Candy.
All started from SPS, move through traffic and 45 metre bullet to the near side... so good.
i was over from Perth for Work and stayed to head to the G.
Imagine being 18 years old and as good as Footy as SPS is. I have seen 2 perfromances live that have stuck with me. One was Chris Judd playing against us at Subiaco and SPS on Saturday. A star was born today.
But he does the little things as well. Harasses on the marks, makes a mistake and attacks the next contest to make Amends, always trying to hi five hi teammates and dap them.
I have said many times that I don't rate Nick Graham but I must say, he came in yesterday and after some early nerves, did a solid job.
But slow of mind and foot but as the game wore on, and it slows down he was of great benefit where the kids start strong and fade. That's why the balance was great yesterday.
