Did you think our small forwards somewhat disorganised last week, particularly earlier in the game? They were competing well, but several times three or more were fighting for the ball and getting in one another's way. Perhaps we need to go with one less small forward.
Williams? Just too big a risk. The heat there will be in next Sunday's game would be a bridge too far for a bloke lacking match fitness.
Quite agree Mr B, will be well short of a run and given history just as likely to limp off. On the other hand Stocker should be better for the run last week. Like many, I think Liam is part of our future.
The player who worried me last week was our ruckman. Good work horse at throw wins, but seemed well behind the speed of the game if the ball was in dispute or in his hands. Hope we play big Tom as 2nd ruck.
The only sour note was the poor game from Motlop. Ran around and did SFA... no impact.
Yes Baggers, young Motlop didn't look very "engaged" in the quarter & half that I watched. Certainly no second efforts. Also looks to be still carrying plenty of puppy fat! Perhaps time to start the real apprenticeship! Such as a run with roll (in VFL games) on an opposition's midfielder, or some time in the back pocket guarding their sharp moving small forwards. He has to become more than the so called "deadly" sharp shooter if he is to play AFL. cheers Ab
Agree, Blues will need to play Mirkov (ready or not) with Pito unavailable. Yes "sink or swim", but judging by reports he may do well and at least have us competitive when rucking. We are unlikely to win many matches with a 18 to 50 hit out ratio, like last night!
It is probable human nature to want to be on the side of the winners. Even if such a win is merely enjoying joining the mob to pitchfork yet another Carlton coach out the door. In our rush to accept the "lets change coach again" scenario that appears to be emanating from some Board members and being gleefully cultivated by the media, are we being fair to and are we giving full value to David Teague as a coach.
I congratulate those CSC members on this site who in showing support for DT continuing as Carlton coach in 2022 have outlined not only his coaching positives, but importantly the impossible task he has faced this season putting a competitive team on the park due to such an enormous injury list.
I for for one would be happy to sign a petition asking the board to retain David Teague as coach for season 2022.
