Overall happy with the changes except Fantasia. Doesn't deserve a recall, however I suspect the discussion with him is let's find out what he can bring to the table in the first half of the season. If he doesn't lift in the next few weeks, I don't think you'll see him for the rest of the year unless there is a major injury crisis.

So the press has jumped on us now in regards to our poor defensive efforts in the last 4 weeks. Only North have given up more points in this time. Good article in The Age today  no point posting link as you won't be able to access it unless you're a subscriber.
I agree we have been poor but it is not that easy to fix. It's not just about the back 6, although losing Saad and McGovern certainly hasn't helped. When teams like Geelong and GWS slice through us from defence to there forward line, it is about our whole teams defensive efforts. And as I have been saying for a long time  our lack of leg speed makes it hard to stop. We need players that can go with them when it gets turned over and we don't have many.

Drop the axe Vossy - too many players are getting a free ride.

And bring in who? The injury list doesn't allow this, although I would be tempted to just axe a couple to send a message.
Sorely missing the run of Saad and McGovern down back.
We are too predictable going forward and inefficient when it gets there.
The stats say it all.
Bring on the Pies.

Was at the game. At around the 19.min mark of the 3rd qtr we were 20 points down and were flat as a tack. The Giants were in total control. The rest is history.
How did this happen?  Can anyone explain it to me?
With the injuries we have, it was enormous.
There is something cooking and it ain't the same crap as previous false dawns.

I know we are all probably sick to death of talking about it but...Daniel Hoyne from Champion Data was on SEN last night talking about the decision to play Pitto. Rattled off the amount of times we have won "turnover game" playing only TDK. Was 60% from memory compared to I think it was 25% when we played both. Also TDK played forward for 30 mins on Saturday and was targeted only once. Further to this, H doesn't get to ruck which affects his game and the team because he impacts when he plays ruck.
Hopefully the MC listen to SEN...

And they couldn't miss because so many of their shots on goal were 'easy.' When a side has 20 shots on goal and nails 80% of them, you look at your defence... it wasn't 'luck', it was simply that their shots on goal were 'a walk in the park.' Poor pressure. We gave the 'suckers' an even break and made them look much better than they were.

Agree completely with this. It is much easier to kick a goal when you are under minimal pressure and the shots are taken in the corridor.
They opened us up like a tin of sardines when going forward. It was embarrassing to watch.
As I said in a previous post, the inability of our midfielders (lack of pace) to put pressure on hurts us on transition especially on the Marvel highway deck.

Most of the key points covered by the knowledgeable supporters on this forum.
My main takeaways from the game:
1. Lack of leg speed/line breakers means the ball often gets to the forward line slowly or from a kick under pressure meaning we rely on CC or H to take a big pack grab against multiple defenders who have peeled off their man to support. Very predictable to the opposition.
2. As Kingy & Lyon noted, we work too hard for our goals because of 1) above and we don't lower the eyes/and or forwards not leading to space. Compare our forward entries to the open spaces that Adelaide's forwards operated in.
3. Our small forwards not up to scratch  especially Fantasia. Must be dropped.
4. Defence off today due to injuries, matches and lack of pressure from midfield.  Refer 1) lack of leg speed required to chase some of Adelaide's line breakers.
