Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 7 : BLUES VS PIES (Match Day Mayhem)
Too many behind the ball. We have nothing to kick to when we do get it. They are working much harder than us on the spread. terrible disposal whether due to stupidity or the pressure.
No run from Simmo Walker or Touhy. Thye commentators saying Gibbs has been good? seriously?? Is it just me or has he been as crap as any1 else out there?

Buckley been great. Warnock good. So too Robinson.

Bell obviously not ready. Garlett better pull his finger out or he'll be back in the 2's by 3/4 time!!

Gee we miss Yarran's speed. And Armfield 's too hile we're at it.

We're a long long way off the Pies. They have 5 stars in their team and the rest are no-bodies who play to instruction. They play as a team. Getting a real lesson here on workrate alone.

Lucas just doesnt do it for me.........
I was willing to give him time but ....how much time do you give a skinny lightweight? He's no KPD or Fwd and he's been around long enough to show something??????
For mine, he's not imposed himself on a game like say a Buck's or Menzel have. I'm not saying that these 2 have made it but they show bits and pieces of what they "could" be. Lucas has shown me nothing to get  excited about. :-\ :-\  I cant see what he offers???

Have been critical of Touhy this year. Deserved a spray yesterday but you could see he was trying to run the ball rather than kick long. as per coaches instruction you'd think. We all know he can kick like a mule but it seems the instruction is now to short kick and run/handball instead.
Touhy's still an asset and his game was better yesterday than in previous weeks.

Agree with all RE Rowe and White. Thought there games were very good yesterday.

I'm just happy we never gave up. That's all I want at this stage. We aint a top 6 side ( not yet anyway ) but so long as we keep up the fight, and never say die.....I'll be happy with that.

Ps.... Kudos to Daisy. Ive really struggled to embrace him. He is obviously not as fit as he would like but he pushes himself to every contest. That smother in the last at full stretch ..........I give in. Welcome to Carlton Daisy. ;)

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 4 : BLUES Defeated By Demons (Pathetic & Pitiful Post-Match)
If he failed then the others must be terrible. He's been by far the most successful of our coaches since David Parkin. Might not have been perfect but for a bloke on his first senior coaching gig he got the club back on track. Was a free kick away from a PF.

I guess it depends how you define success, if you set the bar low enough it's impossible to fail.
It's worth remembering that the team who denied us a PF had won the wooden spoon the year before and finished 11th in 2009, yet WC finished 2 1/2 wins ahead of us after the home and away rounds.
Dale Thomas and Jarryd Roughead were both taken as priority picks and have both played in Premiership teams, Hawthorn got another priority pick in 2005.
Teams can and do improve rapidly after a period in the lower regions of the ladder but Carlton hasn't mastered the process.

Would we have picked Thomas or Roughead....doubtful.....

Would it have mattered?
When we got them, all of Walker, Murph, Gibbs, Kruez, were guns of their time and of their peers.

So, the question has to be asked..........what if we got the Cooneys, Pendelbrys, Selwoods and who ever else your heart desires????
Would that have automatically made a difference to our team and where we are at now?

I'm not convinced. I think our Culture and lack of proper coaching/development, has stuffed our players.

Selwood is a great player but had a fantastic team around him his whole career. He's now arguably the best player in his team. BUT, would he have been as good in our team ??
I'd just about bet my left nut that if any of them had been drafted by a better club, let alone Geelong, we'd all be marvelling at how good they are.

We've stuffed them. We've failed them. After so long in the system and without the support around them it's hardly any wonder that they've lost heart.

It's an excuse of sorts, but I cant bare to watch them anymore myself. I cant handle lack of effort. Pride in myself alone would drive me to go beyond for my team but looking from the outside, it seems our " guns " are beyond that. :-[

Would we beat Brisbane?

We couldn't beat an egg !!

Thanks Sheik. the last thing I expected to do after a loss like that was to laugh.
I'd usually be screaming at someone or wanting to rip someones head off but that one liner right there............i'm still crying at how funny ( and true ) that is!!

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 4 : BLUES Defeated By Demons (Pathetic & Pitiful Post-Match)
How embarrassing is that.

If we cant beat Melbourne....then who the fark are we gonna beat?  Where is this team headed?

Their skills were never great but it has totally deserted them. They have absolutely no run and couldnt even play man on man when required!! How many times did Melb players find space??? Too fkn easy and it's due to lack of effort.

MM...you dont have the cattle to play the game style you want.
Either change the game plan to suit your cattle or start looking at a retirement village.
For such a great coach, how have you managed to suck the life and confidence out of the 22 weak plicks you choose to wear our beloved navy blue Guernsey every week?

This is simply disgraceful. Not acceptable by any stretch.
I'm simply staggered that for whatever reason....we've stooped to this low...again. >:(

I cant get over MM saying he didnt see this coming??? :o :o

I did. Surely I'm not the only one ::) ::)

The only chance I gave us was 10 minutes before the game when I did some maths. :o :o :o
I figured that we turned up at half time last week and seeing that daylight savings kicked in.....that would mean we'd be right from the get go!!! :-[

Phew, just as well i dont bet!! ;)

Pretty hard to argue with any of that Rocky. :'(

Seen Curnow do some good things last year , buts he's stunk it up so far this year. I wouldn't have him in my team.

I'd rather Wood as our ruck TBH. Warnock is the invisible man after a tap out and I dare say that he's tap outs would barely be 50% to advantage anyway..

Casboult needs to come in. Bell needs to start. These bigger boys need to be told to use there bodies or start seeking employment elswhere.

Robbo needs to be dropped for 2 or 3 weeks to get that killer instinct back in him. He's never been our most skilful player but ATM, he isnt even providing us with grunt. He provides nothing, nada, zilch.

Start preparing now for the yard sales. Fatten up the cattle to get the best price for em.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 3 : Carlton VS Essendon (After Siren Shrieking)
We are rotten and dead in the middle.

The backs fight against a continual flow of pressure free ball coming through the middle.
The forwards hardly get the ball coming in lace out.

Our midfield is next to useless, filled with soft, heartless, soulless imposters.
We are still the same one way lazy river.
With dead branches, the ilk of : Warnock Kreuzer Murphy Walker Robinson Curnow Gibbs Garlett Ellard Carrazzo floating aimlessly downstream.

One hundred and fifty years !!!!    WOW the last dozen have been dreadful and embarrassing looking back and it won't get any easier. We have set a rod for our own back, due to our method of constantly making bad choices on and off the field.

We are Carlton.... and we are FARKED !!

Spot on.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 3 : Carlton VS Essendon (After Siren Shrieking)
Is he contracted next week?

The real culprit is Hughes.  Our recruitment has been dreadful.  Watson.  Lucas.  Two wasted first round draft picks.  And them there's the Marcus Davies of this world.  And then there's the recycled players who have been rubbish for us like Robbie the Robot.  It's been a train wreck for a number of years.

Yep...couldnt agree more and it will be a 3-5 year turn around when you are starting from rock bottom...

Port were able to turn it around quite quickly. That's what we have to hope for

It's amazing what a difference a great coach makes.

Adelaide were saying that about Sanderson too.

I'm not defending MM but that's 2 posts of yours tonight that appear to lay the blame solely at the feet of the coach. thats a cop out. The players were bloody awful and deserve a flogging for that performance.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 3 : Carlton VS Essendon (After Siren Shrieking)
I'm neither for or against MM as coach. The fact is he is the coach and yet the same deadcrape players we have keep putting in the same lame performances. The players should take the bulk of the blame for this game.

How the f**k could we have thumped this mob by 98 odd pts 3 years ago and then simply watched them go past us?

What the fk has happened to our disposal ???? We were never great by either hand or foot but FFS, tonight was diabolical!

Whats so special about Carrazzo that he gets a gig in the 1st's after so long out of the game? His touch was simply f..ing awful and it isnt any wonder either.

Touhy needs a spell. Curnow needs a spell. Rowe was better this week but that wasnt that hard really!. get casboult in there FFS. Waite did 3/5ths of feck all and Garlett.......you can feck off too.

Jesus, if we dropped the players who deserved it to night, we'd almost have a new 22 next week.

I barrick for our jumper. Very few who wore it tonight deserved that honor.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: R2 : Blues V Tigers (Venting & Vitriol)
Bad kicking is bad football. Simples!!

Doesnt matter how you look at it, for the most part, we didnt deserve to win that game. We were bloody terrible. The Tiggers shatt themselves to let us back in. They're not that much better than us TBH.

How is it that Warnock could win the BOG and Worst on ground for the same game? 2 kicks at 0% !!! ::)

Buckley is a keeper. Leave him in and find a few more like him.

Yarran's finally showing his potential and Garlett is showing us why he slipped to the rookie draft >:(

Murph worked his way into it but still aint the player he should be.

Gibbs' 1 effort for the game aint anywhere near enough. Pi55 off to Adel for all I care.

Kudos to Bell, Simmo and  later on Waite.

Everitts game after 1/4 time was great and I suppose you'd have to say Curnows was too. I didnt notice Cotchin all that much and assume Curnow had him ????? :-[

Last week we fired early and fell away. this week we start at half time.  How dumb is this group of players? Just an even, consistant 4 Qrt effort will do boys.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Blues v tiger (in game)
OMG

Embaressment personified.

We are a rabble.

Other than "THAT" kick, Warnock has been our best player! What does that in itself say about our team !!!!

F...ing pitiful Blues.  kicking is a basic fkn skill that at this level, shouldnt be an issue. You make me sick!! >:(

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: R2 Richmond V Carlton - Prematch
I'm almost over this club.
Nothing has changed in this place for at least 5 years.

What does Buckley have to do to get a game? The kid has pace and takes the game on. He tries to make things happen. I'd love to see him get a regular gig.

I'd also like to see Casboult in but that will only happen if one of Hendo,Waite, Warnock or Kruezer make way. We'd be too big otherwise.  For mine, Kreuzer should make way. He is too small to be a ruckman and too slow to be a fwd. What a fuuk up of the highest order has that pick been.........maybe that knee did more damage than we'll ever know but for all the hype surrounding this bloke as a junior............pfft he wouldnt be a 3rd round pick in todays market!!

Graham is another I'd like to see more.

Robbo needs to be dropped for not learning a thing in 4 years!!  It's all good to go in hard for the ball but if you dont use the bloody thing then whats the fkn point!! 40 mtr skyhigh bombs in hope are a thing of the past FFS !

It's sad that at this stage of the year, I feel so deflated about our chances this year. A win over 9thmond wont change that .........it must be a more consistant effort from the team.  I'm just not holding my breath. :-[
