Careful Micky, if you play whistleblower, the club will get fined....free kick Hawthorn.
Among the litany of questionable decisions the one that got me was SPS getting nailed with the forearm - it was a clear, and absolutely no discussion required report and 50 metre penalty..... crickets. That umpire should have a case to answer for, if they don't know the %$^^&ing rules they should expect to be dropped and bloody well made to learn them.
At the very least I'd expect a please explain from the club to the AFL to clarify the situation on this one.
Sick to death of people knocking the coach without coming up with an alternative. I've just been through this whole thread and I didn't see one suggestion of who could do better.
Tried and tested coaches?
Clarkson - Ian Aitken incident, 'unsociable-football' (sniping) etc Longmire - unwatchable possession football where the whistle goes off every 10 seconds does my head in Ross Lyon - bridesmaid. Negative football. Worsfold - needs success at a second club to prove himself in my mind, because he had an awesome side in the west. Scott brothers - No.
No going to bother going through them all.
Not going to mention his name because people on this site hate him so I will throw out a cryptic clue. Hint its not Skippy.
You will think I need my head read but I would take Buckley, but we would never get him.
Maybe we need a someone who has been through a good system has seen what is required for success and is ready to take the next step. Thats what we have now.
Someone please name me another to roll the dice on (SO WE CAN START AGAIN !!!!!!!!) or put up and shut up.
Brett Ratten couldn't defend against a rampaging Suns because he had no plan B back then. That was is his coach killer game. He is about the only other I could accept as a replacement.
I'm not going to mention his name because a lot of people on this site don't like him so here is a cryptic clue. Hint it's not Skippy.
Player review up on the web site for the this round. Good signs from Stoker and we may see him make his debut soon as it seems that he is a quick learner.
We played 2 patches of good footy - 10mins at the start of the 2nd and 10 mins at the start of the third. In that time we kicked 5 of our 8 goals. For the other 60mins it was largely a mess of skill errors and lack of poise. We have so many dumb footballers and have done for years and years. When the pressure came on in the last quarter we wilted as we always do.
I can't see how Bolton can keep his job next year. 4 games in and we are rock bottom on the ladder again. You can't sugar coat the fact that we can't score, and cant play anything more than the 10-15 mins of AFL standard football before we start to look like a VFL team.
Here a great stat from today - they had 96 marks in total for the day. 71 of those came from our kicks. 3 out of 4 of their marks came from intercepts!
Hmm. I had the same recurring nightmare for four weeks now. We play 2 good patches or quarters of football and then go to sleep and get rolled.
1. Why when we play a tall forwardline are we kicking it to Michael Gibbons?
I get it, we are trying to give the bloke a goal but how about getting a freaking win instead??
2. Walsh is already in our top 3 performers every week. What a disgrace to the others.
Take two. Exactly. WTF are our forwards up the ground and we kick it long to the guy who is suppose to be front and square and feeding of the crumbs!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so livid after the game I have to go for a walk to cool off and IT HAS NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does Wallsy sit in the coaches box? Just sayin... I always thought SOS would've been a good coach.
There was an artical in the HS by Mark Robinson. Listed below are some of the points of the artical. Its a god read and if anyone has a login they may like to post some more details.
Not in thre couches box, however he's at the club 3 times a week getting up ay 5.30 am on thoses mornings to be at Ikon park at 7.00am, staying until about 2.30pm. He's at every training session, sometimes on the track with players and oftens sits in on coaches mettings. He also watches VFL games. Walls is to be a sounding board for BB and the other 10 assistant coaches. He has gained the trust of all coaches, often the assistant coaches tap him on the shoulder for advice and tap into his knowledge.
Just watched the press conference from the weekend with Harf and Tayla. She is such an impressive young lady. Made jokes about Harf and was just super impressive. It seems that they are all a close nit group and it is a credit to Harf to get them into this postion after last years disaster.
Setterfield was one big plus for us. 24 disposals in 66% game time. Give him 100% game time and it's around 40 disposals. Pretty good for a kid playing his 3rd senior game.
He will be a gun.
Agreed. Like the look of him and looked assured at times. Only went at 50% efficiency tonight but for a third games I'll take that. Can only get better. SOS had big raps on him and I can see why. Another small piece of the puzzle solved.
You'll remember the real old foot cards, occasionally they released some showing images of iconic players from the 50s and 60s, some of those kicking styles were considered so classic that they were used on the cards and they look just like Tayla.
Just on the CheatsTV pissweak reaction to those trolls pestering Tayla Harris.
Firstly, what a bunch of fecking morons CheatsTV really are, it just exposes the true attitude of the AFL and CheatsTV towards the AFLW, no wonder their station and organisation appears full of Dankettes and drug apologists. CheatsTV is a forking disgrace and should be excluded from all future broadcast rights negotiations. There is some true irony when their talent describes Sam Newman as a dinosaur, I hope Sam Lane has enough willpower to call them out on air!
Secondly, Carlton fans this is why I demand our club becomes less passive and more pro-active in the media. The loudest voices supporting Tayla should be Carlton fans and the Carlton Football Club. Our board members and executive should have stormed the media last night demanding respectful treatment. Carlton fans and the Carlton football club get around Tayla Harris and build the culture, if you don't it's just another sign you'll give up the line meekly and mildly.
Finally, what a freaking superstar Tayla is, what a role model for everyone.
Well said LP.
For those that are unaware about this issue. There was a picture of Tayla kicking action from Sat game. A credit to any footballer kicking for goal, take note Cas. Some crude remarks about the photo which was posted on @AFL7 twitter feed. Click on the link below and should be able to follow the story.
