Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 16 : Blues Slaughter Saints (Rejoicing & Backslapping)
Wish we could beat up a big guy!

Saints are not going well. It is nice to have a win, but bit sad to belt a defeated mob!

Wish we could have beat up the Pies!

The team is coming on well. Levi and Rowe have been great developments. Docherty has skill to burn and Everitt is a great acquisition.

The need to beat a Big Guy to convince themselves that are a force!

Perhaps Watson got the job because Jamison was out.  I agree with you in the cases of Rowe and Casboult. They were persevered with and the bet is paying off.
I would love to believe that Watson can stick to a tough opponent and not lose his confidence!

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: R13 : Carlton drowned by the Hawks
I thought the Blues were good.
Pleased with Rowe's efforts and Casboult has stepped up a big notch. We always knew he could clunk, but he is playing like a powerful big man,on the ground, in the packs.
One has to hand it to MickM.
He is doing a great job!

If you can catch up towards the end of the game
you should not have been behind.
If you can get your nose in front,
you should be able to keep it there.
Brave loss is not really good enough
Three brave loses will produce a hiding.
I don't think the Club is trigger happy anxious to compete at present.
It might be a long season.
Hey is anyone free to pick up my aged grannie from the paraplegic's Nursing home,
I figure she could help RobbieW improve his kicking!

Do you recall, before the season started MickM thought we were on the cusp of serious success.
His judgement has been proved wanting.
The Blues were not as prepared for tonight as were the Tigers.
MickM is good news, but can he mount a side for the new era of football?
Will his fufu valve survive the frustrations of the coaching box?

The Kennedy vs Judd situation has been well discussed and I understand why the club traded Kennedy, the problem I have is that after that we didnt try and replace him until we had the tall draft where we got Mitchell, McCarthy etc...
Casboult and Rowe were the cheap gambles that have not paid off so far and dont look paying off either, they are not specialist KP forwards more just bit part players who are jack of all trades but masters of none and when it comes to KP forwards you need the real thing not cheap fill ins.
Its like buying a J11 Chery FWD or Great Wall FWD and expecting it to last and perform like a Toyota Landcruiser, either they fall part or just dont go at all...
There hasnt been a Podsiadly available as a low cost experienced player to cheat with like Geelong had and we are one short down the spine.....
Its going to be that one player that makes us midpack rather than top 4-6 IMO.
I thought the Recruiting of talls, Mitchell/McCarthy was one year too late.
It was obvious we need Key Talls down back and the next year we picked up Mitchell/McCarthy and trusted and trusted with out result.
Our recruitment needs to improve. The presence of MickM helps. Great pick-ups this year: (Everitt, Cripps, Doherty, Thomas).
I figure Temay to be a great type of guy, but if he does not make an impression in 2015 - will he be a wasted pick.
We will be watching to see if mid-size selections Reynolds, Johnson prove to be good judgement!

Hope Rogers stays in.
He so proved himself in Austalia.
Pity Shane cannot be fitted into the team, he is a useful bowler.
Johnson was just so good. The Poms absolutely crashed, I wonder if Smith and Coy can rise again.
Boof is a magnificent difference to a team that was under-performing

We had two ruckman in excess of requirement: Hammer and Sauce.
Worthies both!
Wood is a great pick up, lots of ability, lots of salary cap!
We know Hammer could break out and be the total winner - but on his injury form, he won't!
We had one more HFF than we needed.
With MickM at the the helm, we have had an exceptional recruiting year!
It seems MickM is impacting on the 2015 plans!!

I wonder if there is enough height beside Jamison.
I think we need more height on the HF line as well.
I have this inkling that we should invest inn Casboult becoming a Cloke forward.
With his injury track record, Waite gives us great balance as a Swing Player asset

Thanks a sqwillion for the summary of the game, first class!
I was interested in Crashlander's comment

[17]   Rowe: Did adequately against Petrie, but he really didn't give much drive. Didn't look like a key defender.
I figure that Pedrie is almost the standard of a good CHF. Do Adequately against Pedrie and you Pass.  It would be great for Carlton if Rowe could step in and manage a key back roll!
What do you think? He tries, he learns and is a quality bloke!
