Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Clash Jumper Revealed
Yep. Hardly rocket science.

re clashes.

Look at the jumpers from behind.

I'm not sure what the current opposition jumpers are displaying at the back right now but in the past we have clashed with...
Melbourne
Fremantle
St. Kilda
West Coast
Collingwood
Essendon

When those teams had a predominantly solid back colour (be that black, purple or blue) it made it very difficult to pick up from behind in certain light....usually direct sunlight.

We clash with all those jumpers ?   but only certain light or direct sunlight..... Please tell me you are taking the piss.... :D

I apologise in advance if you are color blind.

It's our clash strip and the AFL mandate when clash strips must be worn, it's clash strip schedule is laid out by the AFL prior to the start of the season, it's not up to the individual clubs.

btw., Even Collingwood now have a clash strip approved by the AFL, they change the pattern of the stripes and the colour of the back panel.

Thanks for letting me know..... now I can direct my anger towards the AFL and not the Club.

I still dont think we need one.

We are the NAVY BLUES

And yet you've used a poker avatar in a "greyish" T-shirt/jumper!

We are talking about wearing a clash ( even though our jumpers dont clash ) jumper here not avatar pictures.

Nobody has answered why would we wear this Jumper against Hawthorn ?

You've got a picture of a tiger or leopard ?    so screwing what ?   what the screw has that got do with anything ?

Whoever gave this the green light should be sacked... It's downright disgusting and I was embarrassed to watch my team run around in that crape last night ... white socks ???   FFS !!

Is this supposed to be a clash? strip an away? strip or just a bullcrap money? making exercise.

Our traditional Navy BLUE doesnt clash with Hawthorns piss and poo colours so why the farrk would we have worn it ???

ps -  just in case I haven't made it clear...... I farrking hate it.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: JLT Series - 5 days away

ok, enough of the AFLW and AFLX blubber, some real footy starts on the 24th with the Blues up on Wed week (28th) at 1910 at Ikon Park vs the Sainters.

We then play the Hawks March 10th in Tassie.

Thanks God after having to endure the tripe of both the W and X games.

YES !!

I've watched approx. 5 mins of our AFLW play and only watched our 1st game of AFLX and didnt bother watching anymore even though i recorded it all

in my best Rock voice.......... "FINALLY some real footy"

Murphy captain if he still wants it...  ?  he's just had a baby so maybe time to step back ala Judd at the end of his career ?

If Not Murphy - Ed Curnow capatain for a year or 2 ...  then Doc and Cripps next in line. 2019-20.

The Sports Desk / Re: 5th Test vs England in Sydney
Watching the ease with which our blokes wound up the Poms last innings I don't think the short ball has lost its impact at all.
The poms certainly didn't like it.

Cummins? Well , the best quick bowler of the series.

Congratulions to the selectors too.
I, like everyone else on here, thought the Marsh bros. were not up to it. How wrong we all were.

Credit where its due re M Marsh's Batting ( he was brought in as bowling back up and went wicket less but nailed the batting spot )

Lets see how he goes against SA.... The Poms were pretty ordinary - gonna be a lot harder over there for all batsmen including Smith.

The Sports Desk / Re: The Third Test in the Ashes Series - WACA (14 December)
Exactly!  You can't fault his batting in this test, but he was specifically brought into the team to provide a 5th bowler who would be threatening at over 140kph.

I have a feeling that he is welded on to the test team for the next 6-8 tests and will do nothing.

yep agreed... he batted well and has cemented his spot for the rest of the series and probably beyond.
