Blah-Blah Bar / Re: Merry Christmas
Best wishes to everyone on this forum, you give me great insight into the hearts and minds of true Carlton supporters and are my first refuge when our team is doing it tough. Let’s hope 2019 is the year we turn the corner and start to benefit from the hard work done over the last 3 years. Merry Christmas everyone!

Really ?  I thought he came across as a petulant, entitled little sh1t......which has been my take on him from the get go.

Maybe he'll mature one day.....but as someone who's followed motor racing for most of 40 years....and grew up listening to my Dad tell stories of watching the likes of Jim Clark, Jack Brabham, Graeme Hill, Bruce McLaren etc. racing around country roads in Northern Tassie.......the current f1 drivers for the most part leave me completely cold.

Maybe it's generational thing....but most of them just have no sort of engaging personality whatsoever.  Riccardo excepted.
As I said I'm not a fan but boy he has a ruthless streak.

Ricciardo better off out of Red Bull with feckwits like Verstappen in the line up!

Not a fan of Verstappen but liked his reaction and post race interview. F1 is a ruthless cut throat business and he is as ruthless and bloody minded as they get, his decision not to let Ocon through may have been questionable but he is 100% clear on where he wants to be, a lot like Schuey, Senna and many others.

The Sports Desk / Re: One day squad..No Maxwell????
Maxwell isnt popular in some sections of the Aus cricket community and I did hear a rumour that he said he wouldnt be into sledging Virat Kholi and it didnt go down well
with his Aus teammates who see Maxwell as selfish and putting his personal career ahead of the team. Maxwell is mates with Kholi off the field.....
I like Peter Siddle and he is a honest trier but this isnt good for Aus cricket recalling him at his age, this is what England used to do and we are better than that....

We should be better than this but it seems that the same old political biases are in play here. Maxwell clearly deserves his chance on this tour but is clearly out of favour, can't see the squad we are sending coming back with anything other than resounding losses.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: 2018 Rd 21 Post Game Prattle: Carlton vs Freo in Perth
Kerridge is one I would  delist , 29 possies that were useless and Murphy was similar with his output, our entire midfield struggled to hit targets and our young forwards deserve better.
We cannot continue with players like Kerridge, Graham etc....
Pickett has talent and skills most of our others don't have but continues to be a 10-12 possession player only.....one more year for him to improve then bye bye....

Pickett needs a full pre-season to build some sort of fitness base, once he has this we should begin to see what he can bring as he gets to more and more contests. Will probably never be a 25+ possession player but 15+ creative ones will do us nicely.

What I like about Pickett is his clean ball handling.... You can't teach that.   Players that fumble cost you in big games.
Every time he has the ball in his hands I look forward to the outcome, not many players you can say that about. If building his fitness will allow him to get it more often then we can strap ourselves in for a pretty exciting ride.

Am i missing something with Byrne?

Every man and his dog seemed to think he was a walk up start to take over the docherty role.
Yes, he's been injured, but he did SFA when he actually got a chance to play.
Was much more impressive in 2015 before he got injured, will be interesting to see what he can produce if retained but I have Williamson miles ahead of him.

Interesting take on Harry.

Simplistic view IMO, there is obviously something we're not aware of be it attitude, work rate or injury. I reckon it's a combination of all 3 and hopefully more towards the injury and work rate rather than attitude. While we have kids developing in the ones they all appear to have the right attitude, let's hope he finds the missing ingeredient soon as he no doubt has the talent.
