Id argue Voss was hired to win a premiership and not build a list and that adding established players to fill holes on your list was what most clubs would do when in the premiership window.
Agree with the principal, but my view is that we thought we were in a premiership window but were in reality not. I know we got to a prelim final in 2023, however the list has been overrated - this result was an anomaly.
So this week no Silvagni, Saad, Walsh and McKay. That's some decent quality out of the side. Replacements for Saad and JSOS will be interesting. I favour youth over experience that hasn't performed.
We won't beat the Pies this week. We need to get back to basics - teamwork, encouraging each other, tackling, pressure, commitment to the cause. That's all I ask.
I really don't have anything to add to what has already been said. There's a number of reasons why we have gone so pair shaped, it's not a simple fix. Whoever can fix this mess deserves the keys to the city and a bronze statue outside PP.
Although not all his fault, this does not bode well: FACT: Michael Voss has coached 194 games for 88 wins, 104 losses, and two draws. His 45.88% win percentage is the second-worst among active coaches who have coached at least 40 games. I didn't actually realise his he's record was that bad.
If it was my call, I'd let Vossy coach out the year which is what I think the club will do. Unless he quits because he thinks he's lost the players? The pressure on him will be immense from the media pack I feel for him somewhat.
Odds on us getting back to within 3-4 goal this quarter to make it look 'respectable' to anyone who didn't watch the game, but in reality just adds to the issues and why we couldn't do it sooner
Port beat the Giants in Canberra a few weeks ago. We haven't beaten a decent team all year apart from the Cats who were napping at the time (pardon the pun). Can't see us winning this, but then again who would know with this group ?
I heard a news report suggesting the senior players are leading the review of the NM disaster this week. That's farken laughable if true given the senior players are the problem. How do you reckon that review will go?
Well if on field behaviour is any indication, it will be a pretty casual review especially if Charlie is leading it. Lots of smiles, a few beers, nothing to see here...
I would play Cincotta on Curtis but I suspect that his assignment will be Davies-Uniacke.
Zurhaar's best footy is behind him and he hardly got a touch last time we played North. He's averaging just under two goals a game this season though and does need attention.
Yep, makes more sense. I fell for the old Cinc named in the back pocket therefore that's where he'll play... Doh!
Lucky Cincotta is not making salami as well this weekend !
