Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL Rd 23 2025 Pre Game Prognostications Carlton vs Port Adelaide

Hinkley looks cooked, much like Brad Lloyd, they both look like they need a holiday.

He might do a Dimma in a year or two, but it could go the other way also.
Agree...Nice bloke is Ken but yesterday's news in terms of coaching and I think he is best suited to any other role other than senior coaching.
Not to coach. Head of football dept

Another ITK poster susequently offered that Cripps hasn't said he wants out, but rather that he is happy to go back to WA if we are doing to a full blown rebuild.

I wouldn't blame him, and unlike some other players,  I wouldn't think less of him.
The reality is, if many of the changes that are speculated about take place we're not winning flags for a number of seasons.
Cripps plays a very physical game.
It's one that means he won't have too many seasons left before his output starts to diminish, or he needs a change of role.
Having endured the worst of times does he want to back up for a second helping...even a mini-rebuild.
It will take some time for any new players to jell.
He's been a warrior for us and he'll be remembered as a Carlton great whatever he decides.
He deserves to determine his own future, and if family is a priority then so be it.
He won't be letting us down because he'll be giving a bit back in terms of trade.

If on the other hand he wants to be a one club player that's fine too...but the next couple of years will likely be tough ones.
Maybe playing without the burden of captaincy would be a good idea.
He's one player we do owe.

Well said Lods, agree totally.
He's earned the right to do whatever he wants and if he does go he's not letting down the club in any way.
It's the club that's let him down.

Not getting to the footy has been Motlop's historical problem, so I think seeing him in and around many contest is a step in the right direction.

He's got tricks he just needs to find ways to use them, he'll get better the more opportunity he gets.

Surely nobody could argue he's not at least appearing a bit better than in the past! :o
We have no choice but to continue to persevere with Motlop, he is showing signs of improvement just needs a breakout game.
I'm not convinced on this at all.
His lack of awareness of what's around him is a big concern, which means he often gets caught HTB.
He runs ok in straight lines, but to be a top level small forward, you need to be able to change direction to evade tackles.
He doesn't have this. It may come, but is it worth persisting with him another 2-3 years to find out?

7 reporting Curnow is out, Cerra in doubt

Curnow is apparently 'sore' but with his next game being his 150th it may be the case of missing the away game and playing that milestone game in front of a home crowd (Charlie's crew and all that)

If that is the case, and it's not genuinely an injury that prevents Charlie playing, it probably signals that the result doesn't have a lot of importance and we've pulled up a bit short of the finish line.
Could be a good old belting coming up in the wild west
