Laverde and Durham out for Essendon, we should win by 15 goals.
Usually these games are a must watch but it's hard to get interested given their injuries and nothing to play for apart from pride..

Kennedy( 4 more games) has kicked the same amount of goals as Williams this season, has more Goal Assists and double the disposals and Id suggest at half the money...I reckon the Bulldogs would be very happy with their cheap freebie pickup.

The difference is that Kennedy is still a plodder and Williams is very good at breaking the lines ... and I’m more than happy that we gave up Kennedy for O'Farrell.  Nice work Mr Austin!

@Djc jack martin wasn't a player for us anyway.  Cunningham was varying degrees of the same and if anyone is mounting an argument for afl capable mids then weve effectively only lost one from last season based on games played (kennedy).  Jack Carroll played mainly forward pocket/high half forward and has zero defensive side to his game.  Weve discarded a lot of players lately but Kennedy aside none have fired a shot at afl level until martin at Geelong and even he's been a small sample size.

That also kyboshes the forwards playing midfield argument

Yes, they were listed as midfielders even though they rarely got on the park.

In terms of ability and durability, it's Kennedy out (Martin has been played mostly as a defender by Geelong), Lord in, and three others with potential.

Zac Williams stints in the midfield have been very effective this season, more so than when he was tried as a full time mid.  He probably spends more time as a forward than Kennedy does at the Bulldogs, but I would argue that he has been more important to us than Kennedy has for the Doggies.

Moir is another forward who will probably be used more as a midfielder if his cameos to date are any indication.

Twice i've seen 'list changes - Lord: in'.

He was on our list already. Its not an in.

Lord was added to our list in 2024, Kennedy left in 2024.

He and Kennedy played in the same team so one cant be an out and one an in at the same time.

Regardless of whether they played in the same team, Lord was added in 2024 and Kennedy was traded in 2024.

The SSP and MSD means that players aren’t just added at the end of the season.  Lord wasn’t added in 2023 or 2025 and that leaves just one option.

Hence, in 2024, Lord was an in and Kennedy was an out.

Take Liam McMahon.  There’s a good chance that he won’t get a contract extension.  If not, he will be an in and an out in 2025.
