She’ll have her work cut out for her. NK, China and Russia have never had a female communist leader. This is also a regime that has only had 2 generations, so hereditary rule isn’t a longstanding tradition and NK is nominally a communist country rather than a hereditary monarchy.

PS: the closest a woman got to the top job was Mao’s last wife who was part of the Gang of Four who wielded power while Mao was still alive. But after a month-long power struggle after Mao’s death in which Mao’s wife claimed to be her husband’s hand-picked successor, the Gang of Four were arrested, tried and imprisoned.
