VFL Rd 9 2025 Carlton vs Williamstown at Carlton

The 2nd play after the senior game is over this week, at Carlton at 16:05 against Williamstown, who are not travelling that well. We're actually above them on the ladder!

Fantasia may well play his 1st game for the year. Considering how he was 'flying' in the pre-season, it will be interesting to see if he can get a kick.
Williams probably won't play; he is apparently being given another fortnight to get his fitness up.

Acres and Fogarty are other potential inclusions.

Sam Docherty will probably be promoted, given his 2 huge games so far.

"Fantasia" was a film that was credited for being a psychedelic experience, I'll be in state of altered consciousness if Orazio can take the field and remain there for the rest of the season.

If only ours had the staying power of the original!

At 16:05 at Carlton.
Pitto will be back: all of our subs should be available.
We're actually above Will at the moment.

Having Will Hayes out is a huge loss. but he has his racing commitments. Hopefully, he'll be available for our next game in a fortnight.
Interesting to see Fantasia in for the first time this year. He was flying in the pre-season, but that was a long time ago. Clearly, his body has been an issue.
I quite like Phipps-Parsons, but Frankie Evans is listed.
Our defence is looking thin, but we have a lot of small forwards available.

So that would be former Blues L. Parks, F. O'Dwyer and C. Polson and son of Simon, H. Minton-Connell Crash?

It will be interesting to see how R. Collier-Dawkins goes.  If I remember correctly, his name came up in our trash and treasure conversations.

Our defence will be challenged and we could be asking a lot of Duffy.  Perhaps we'll see Lemmey down back after his standout game as a KPF  ::)

We'll get to see what might have been
Polson is 27 now...seems a long time ago.
Poor old Harry Minton Connell was never going to be a Father/Son...anywhere.

Down by 20 points at half time; make that 36 points. Not looking good at all.
The top 5 possession getters are Willi players; make that 6. Nothing positive to report.

Lost by 38 points :(  The 1st quarter was adequate, but the rest simply wasn't acceptable.
We had 1 of the top 8 possession getters on the ground, and that one was Billy Wilson (22). McLaughlin, their FF, was the top possession getter with 24, and 7 goals 5!

We had the 8 least possession getters on the ground. 5 of them are listed players!
Pittonet dominated the ruck, with 40 taps and 8 clearances, twice what his opponents managed. But where were the mids?
Hudson O'Keefe kicked 3 and had 13 taps and 3 clearances. He earned his pay too.

I haven't watched the game yet, and I wonder if I should bother. I'm not that into masochism.

Ex Gold Coast forward Brodie McLaughlin dined out tonight on the VFL team with 7 goals 5 behinds and 24 possessions from Full Forward to complete a terrible day for the club.
Cincotta was ok, Okeefe kicked 3 goals and Pittonet dominated the ruck but it was a ordinary game from our blokes.
Evans and Fantasia wont be troubling the Match Committee and the Campo's had quiet games too.
If you wanted to venture down the pluck a kid from the VFL team and give them a go path like we did with O'Farrell you could give Wilson or Charleson a game for development. Okeefe probably deserves a game before them but might require dropping another tall and restructuring a bit given TDK, Charlie and Harry are fixtures and Young plays a few different roles for the coach.
We have a soft run of games coming up that we should win so maybe we can squeeze another kid or two into the team.

O'Keefe in the goals again. Good start for Cincotta, 19 touches and 9 tackles. Lemmey got 2 goals and 6 marks but hard to tell how he went on straight out stats in this case.

Someone might want to merge the 2 threads for this game. It doesn't seem to like me when I try.
