I suspect a lot of sports would not attract nearly as many people if not for the girls at the venue, have a look at grid girls for example.

A lot of male spectators at car racing were probably borderline track fans until a grid girl tickled them under the chin with a brochure for headers, after which the guy was hooked for life!

Some of my "older" female friends are pretty open about things. They tell me all men without exception are so easily manipulated by females that it is almost as if nature has deliberately made things unfair!

Where men see a girl giggling and looking great just for the fun of it, women see a girl working the room with a bunch of deliberately intentions!

Fwiw, one of Englands most talented footballers never played for his country (soccer) because he wasnt marketable enough.  Matt Le Tissier.

On the flipside i wonder if Beckhams career would have been what it was if he was ugly.  He was fairly one dimensional as a player and made a career out of being a dead ball specialist.

Exactly my point.  If he was good looking, he would have been regarded as Gary Lineker reincarnate, instead he played for Southampton his entire career because he was frankly, ugly, and a bit gangly.

There is one example of the exact same thing that Navy Maven is complaining about.

Went and checked out a live game of this a few weeks back with some mates...we were bored pretty quickly. Spent the arvo drinking at the pub before heading over to AAMI Park, we'd had enough by half time so we went back to the pub. 
 
It's novel for about 5 minutes. Made for TV, that's for sure.
