Jim Park Voting AFL Rd 8 2026 Carlton vs St. Kilda

Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos:
[1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Sam Walsh or Patrick Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

I've kept the last one, open, but I'll close it tomorrow. Nobody votes after the next game has been played.

AFL Rd 8 2026   Carlton vs St, Kilda
Team :      E
Our first half wasn’t bad, but the rest was abysmal. We were a heartless, soulless rabble in the 3rd quarter, without the tools to compete, let alone the will.

Votes:
[3]   Ollie Florent:
[3]   Brodie Kemp
[2]   Ben Ainsworth
[1.5]   Jagga Smith
[1.5]   Nic Newman
[1]   Nick Haynes
[0.5]   Matt Carroll
[0.5]   Fracis Evans
[0.5]   Ollie Hollands
[0.5]   Adam Saad
[0.5]   Sam Walsh
[0.5]   Adam Cerra

Explanations:
[3]   Ollie Florent:      Probably his most effective game in our colours, Florent’s disposal was much improved.
[3]   Brodie Kemp:      The most effective forward on the ground, Kemp’s game was ruined by his kicking for goal. He should have had 5 or 6, not three. He killed his opponent.
[2]   Ben Ainsworth:   Ainsworth was good value and played like it meant something to him.
[1.5]   Jagga Smith:      Jagga was our most effective mid. His first half was very good.
[1.5]   Nic Newman:      Nic got a lot of the ball, but he is nowhere near his best form yet.
[1]   Nick Haynes:      Haynes tried hard, but his limitation were apparent in the way his opponents continued to take marks.
[0.5]   Matt Carroll:      Took the highlight of the day and tried hard on his wing.
[0.5]   Fracis Evans:      Considering the lack of opportunities, Frankie tried hard and didn’t just died after half time.
[0.5]   Ollie Hollands :   Tried hard, but his fumbles were woeful.
[0.5]   Adam Saad:      Saad wasn’t bad, he provided some run and his disposal was reasonable, but we handball to him and then provide him with nothing to kick to. To see him stop, prop and wonder what to do next was painful.
[0.5]   Sam Walsh:      A reasonable first half. Nothing in the 3rd quarter.
[0.5]   Adam Cerra:      A reasonable first half. Nothing much afterwards.

Honourable Mentions:
Harry Dean      Got frustrated and did something stupid, but he tried hard and didn’t get out-marked as often as some others.
Mitch McGovern:   Mitch was always dangerous. A pity we couldn’t get the ball near him.
Zac Williams:      Provided some run in the first half.
