A good morning of radio tomorrow - first, MMM to hear Eddie venting, and then KB on SEN may receive a couple of calls from Carlton fans.

The deserve to be there argument is now null and void. It's what makes this all worth while. :))

The "don't deserve to be there" argument never had any legs to it IMO.  Let's face it, Essendon were excluded from the finals for being drug cheats.  Yes, the AFL allowed the Scum to pare down the chargesheet, but for their supporters to argue that they weren't done for drugs because of what their club pleaded guilty to is like Melbourne supporters arguing that they were found not guilty of tanking.  The penalties in both cases tell the tale.

Nobody suggests that an athlete who wins after a competitor is rubbed out for drug cheating didn't deserve to win.

No doubt KB will raise it, Gerard still fuels it and the majority of non Carlton supporters believe it.

They can believe in little green men and the Loch Ness Monster if they choose, but I couldn't care less.  It only has any value as a jibe if we reveal any sensitivity to it.  Let them try to explain why drug cheats shouldn't be simply rubbed out of the reckoning as happens in every sport.

Finally worked out the gameplan .......... The rope a dope.

Play like crap for the first half, conserve energy let the opposition play their game then when they tired, let fly.  ;D

I can't work out the commentators view of the game, they received soft 50s and frees and they go on like the Tiggs are world beaters. Cotchin little influence, Martin over rated, Delideo did he play? In fact i can't think of a single player for them that had great influence.

Well done blue boys.

For all the Malthouse bashes out there, he has now won as many finals coaching the blues as Ratten did in five years.

The day after the negatives come.

McInnes - WTF Simon White the second! Brain fade central, simply can't play against the Swans. The signs were there vs the scum.

Kreuzer - Ruckwork was OK but other than that a witches hat. Watching him try to chase at the ground you could see he was clearly hampered by a leg injury. His man ran off him quite often when he played in the forward line.

Yarran - Timid, bereft of confidence, very disappointing.

Andrew Walker - OK last quarter but gave away some soft frees and 50m Just don't like him at all on the last line of defence. I was calling for him to be traded in the first half! I say move him forward for sure.
Ignorance is bliss.

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!

Farking awesome - one can only hope that the sh1t-stained Bitchmond supporters that stood up and cheered when Kouta did his knee in 2001 enjoyed yesterday's proceedings.

And Kevin Bartlett - careful what you wish for you old kant - you were only out in your prediction by 116 points.

I reckon Wanock has put on some muscle and getting more aggressive and confident...

Warnock is pushing out Kreuzer or Hampson. One of the other 2 might not be at the club too much longer.

I think a reality check is in order here Mantis  ;)

Warnock got lots of hitouts, kicked a ripper goal, dished out a couple of bumps, and got thoroughly pantsed by Maric.  Kreuzer got lots of hitouts too, did some heavy work, saved quite a few goals with great spoils, and got thoroughly pantsed by Maric.

I think Kreuzer is still ahead of Warnock by virtue of his ability to be more than just a tap ruckman.  Warnock is an exceptional tap ruckman but is limited by his inability to go forward or win the ball around the ground.  Hampson is, in my view, a better tap ruckman than the other two and is more versatile than Warnock.  His inability to play out a season is a drawback but the other two aren't that much better.  In fact, retaining all three on our list is probably the best way to ensure that we have at least one specialist ruckman available.

The teams that one on the weekend had the dominant rucks.

We pantsed Richmond in the ruck.

BUT, and here is the but, let us not forget how we, yes we on this forum, have rightly bagged the players for many a pathetic effort over this season.

Let us revel in this win against our enemy, but let jus also realise that if we want to finish in the final four next year on our own merits, there needs to be a massive culling of players who don't cut the mustard.

A man after my own heart.   ;)

I want to congratulate the boys on a magnificent second half of football.

To say the first half was pathetic, is an understatement. What most of the players showed, is what has been lacking for most games this season, what was lacking in the first half last week, and what was totally lacking in the first half this week. They showed true guts and determination, and that, plus Richmond tiring, due to the early loss of Conka, and their inability to rotate off the bench as they would have liked, gave us the win.

The first half, was undisciplined crap, not helped by at least one very dubious 50 metre penalty against Kade, and one free not paid to Waite against Rance.

In the second half, all except Armfield who took the day off, Yarran, who still contributed very little, Kreuzer, who has a bad leg, but when he didn't, couldn't take a mark, Hendo, who despite taking a great courageous mark, did not have one of his best games, and Mcguiness, was he really out on the ground, earnt their pay.

If the boys pull up well and can recover after 6 days, they are a real chance to beat Sydney who are undermanned and carrying a lot of injuries.

At least we are there, and we have the satisfaction of going further than Collingwood and Richmond and the drug cheats.

I have said in previous posts, that I hoped that if we won a few games, and yes, even a final, it would not divert our coach recruiters and the board from the vital job that they are entrusted to do for us the supporters.

Recruit the very best that they can so that in our 150th year, we can stand on the dais at the MCG on grand final day holding the premiership cup aloft.

Nothing less than that will satisfy this supporter.

Totally agree with this.

The list still needs a major amendment

McInnes was very shaky I agree but I thought he steadied a bit later in the game. Yarran just does not look confident to me - very reluctant to just do his thing. Hopefully this will pass!
