Re: Elimination Final Voting: Blues tame Tigers Reply #18 – September 08, 2013, 09:41:31 pm Rating: AWe had a 50 point turnaround and won running away. Granted the first half was ordinary - I was damned angry in the 2nd quarter at our lack of discipline, lack of endeavour and poor choices. But basically after half time we creamed the team that finished 5th. That needs a reward I rarely give.Votes:With our Jeckle and Hyde performance, it is hard to give votes. There were very few 4 quarter players. However, there were some memorable performances.[3] Judd[3] Gibbs[2] Duigan[1.5] Waite[1.5] Warnock[1] Murphy[1] Curnow[0.5] Betts[0.5] Simpson[0.5] Henderson[0.5] RobinsonExplanations:[3] Judd: Inspirational! He lifted so far he was walking in the stratosphere, although he was obviously not even 60% fit. Brilliant.[3] Gibbs: One of his best games. He was a 4 quarter player and was instrumental in the way we smashed them at the clearances. Ergo: this was his role. Repeat it.[2] Duigan: Lucky to be out there, he really put in and gave a heap of on field leadership. His goals were a godsend. [1.5] Waite: Best game in months. 6 great tackles, heaps of pressure, some nice marks and 4 goals.[1.5] Warnock: Excellent effort in the ruck and an excellent goal. His ability to give us first access was instrumental in our win.[1] Murphy: 4 good quarters - if anything he quietened as we started to roll over them. Good disposal never goes astray.[1] Curnow: Not as dominant as he was last time, but he did his job very well and had 10 tackles. His opponents were useless in the middle as a result.[0.5] Betts: Useless and cursed early: everything he touched turned to faeces. Then he turned it around. And did he![0.5] Simpson: They tried to bury him, but Simmo really lead by example all game.[0.5] Henderson: Hendo was pretty ordinary early, very reactive and mostly trailing his man. After half time he reversed the roles and started taking the marks and giving us the drive. He ability to take some clutch marks when we were under pressure was pivotal. [0.5] Robinson: Looked like he was gone at quarter time, he lifted mightily and really gave us drive and spark.Honourable mentions:Kreuzer: Did nothing much around the ground, but he was a Trojan in the ruck with Warnock, especially after he was he was injured. It was amazing that he was able to stay out there and contribute.Jamison: Barely got any of the ball himself, but gave his man, their big feature forward, a total bath.Bell: Apart from 2 or 3 real clangers, Tommy played pretty well and gave good drive. His kicking was also a bit off today.Tuohy: beaten early by Edwards, he picked up after being moved and got on top of his man totally. Quote Selected
