Start with 'The Sound of my Voice', East.....tv series the OA. etc.Thank you, K.Loved Predestination. Great concept and really, really well acted. Will start checking out the others on the w/e. Re: Movie thread... Reply #39 – April 16, 2021, 04:51:20 pm I think it's a very personal thing, what appeals to each of us....and while we're all different, in this thread we'll find others with similar tastes.I'm not real fussed about modern/crime/drug movies.Although the Godfather (well 1 & 2) are amongst my favourites. My favourite movie of all time is probably John Wayne's 'The Searchers'....and I guess that's why the Costner movies have an appeal. It' s that expansive, storytelling I enjoy.. It's OK...Probably a poor man's Mad Max.The problem with it was the cost and pre publicity was such that the film was 'talked down' as a box-office flop before it even got going. It's a bit like the Postman. It appeals to some. Re: Movie thread... Reply #42 – April 16, 2021, 05:45:23 pm Field of dreams was good on first viewing too.....but i think thats it. The more you watch his movies (for me at least) the less interesting they become. There is no 'repeat viewing excitement' from majority of his movies for me.I can watch a Tarantino movie a 100 times.....Kubrik movies 1000 times....and still get something out of it.I'll watch some movies for specific actors/actresses.....repeat viewings and all....Costner....barely gets a 2nd viewing. When it does, its almost always disappointing. Quote Selected
