It's also a 4 goal southerly blowing according to the commentary team which favoured the ballasts first quarter. We'll see how the second goes I reckon which might give us an indicator.Maybe they should merge.... 🤣Back in the old days we would have been at risk of relegation to Div 2.....imagine the mighty Carlton playing the likes of Sunshine, Camberwell, Yarraville etc... Re: VFL 2024 Rd 10 Carlton vs Preston at Preston Reply #16 – June 02, 2024, 02:51:52 pm Putrid first 15 minutes, then started to get some ball only to give up 2 late goals. Still in this if we get our arses into gear, we should steamroll a bunch of part-timers. Carroll certainly fighting to keep his spot in the ones, little Durds prominent and Billy Wilson showing something as is Moir to a lesser extent but Motlop, Binns, Marchbank virtually unsighted and Young beaten. Down 15-45 at QT and give up the first of Q2 almost immediately. Quote Selected

Re: VFL 2024 Rd 10 Carlton vs Preston at Preston Reply #21 – June 02, 2024, 03:19:08 pm Suffice to say Durdin and Motlop would have to have spectacular second halves to displace anyone from the 1s, they absolutely stink.Marchbank won't be getting a game anytime soon. Quote Selected
Re: VFL 2024 Rd 10 Carlton vs Preston at Preston Reply #22 – June 02, 2024, 03:22:07 pm If they have a decent 3rd quarter with the wind then its over, you wouldnt be promoting anyone to the seniors based on todays efforts so far. Lewis has been ok down back, Ramshaw gives some effort but a lot of our AFL listed players have been non events and lacked intensity at the contest. Reckon Orazio would be sleeping well and thinking his position is safe....Motlop hasnt got near it all day and Durdin while getting a few kicks hasnt done a lot with them and should be doing much better given the opposition. Re: VFL 2024 Rd 10 Carlton vs Preston at Preston Reply #23 – June 02, 2024, 03:28:22 pm Down at half time-54 34, got into the game generally but crap in front of goal. Carroll still good little Durds busy. Billy Wilson likewise and I like Lemmey's skillset but gee he's laconic. Binns starting to get into it but butchered a goal from the square, Young doing some things right into Q2 but Moir went missing and Marchbank and especially Motlop horrendous. Still in this, same number of shots and if we click we have AFL quality players and they don't. Quote Selected

Bit harsh on Durdin I think. but certainly not a promotion-worthy performance by any No-one putting one of those in Quote Selected Last Edit: June 02, 2024, 03:33:37 pm by blueianh

Re: VFL 2024 Rd 10 Carlton vs Preston at Preston Reply #28 – June 02, 2024, 03:54:21 pm If I didn't know who was an afl player and who wasn't you'd be looking at cahill, Carroll, ramshaw and maybe lemmy if we needed a tall, but McMahon ahead of him if we didn't need a ruck.Biggest concerns is that our boys don't seem to like the contest and most of our afl boys don't look like being consistent over 4 quarters at this level aside from Carroll. Unless we have an injury. We shouldn't be making changes next week. Quote Selected Last Edit: June 02, 2024, 03:58:51 pm by Thryleon
