Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL Rd 20 2022 Post Game Postulations Carlton vs Adelaide
I didn't expect to play finals this year. I have seen a massive improvement compared to last year. Yes this game was disappointing but it really did not surprise me. No way we can win any of the next 3, so we miss this year. Hope it stings the players so we come back better next season.

I was at the game yesterday, we seemed to be a little nervous/ star struck at times. Not sure if it was the large crowd or that the players started thinking we cannot afford to lose this game instead of trying to win. we started to look for leadings players in the last (which we did not seem to do for the first 3 qtrs). Anyway, I see this a a positive, last year we would of been rolled by 35 to 40 but we kept coming. A defender, a defender, my membership for a defender :)

What could Teague do then? Who should he put where? The midfield did not apply any pressure and our poor defense got absolutely smashed!

screw off to McGovern, sick of watching that half arsed effort. Unfortunately goodbye Willo, when I saw you run down for the umpeenth time, I told my family I’m about to drive to Adelaide to punch you in the face!

Newnes, nowhere. Casboult, nowhere. Murphy good time to retire, sorry it was a shocker to end it.

LOB I like you and I think you’ve got skills and I apologise profusely that this god forsaken crap club has not developed you better. Really I apologise.

Newman, you’re skating on Very thin ice with me.

Plow, if you fly for it, make sure you farking take it!

Saad, you beautiful man, you got screwed TWICE by the umpires and you are owed an apology by them!

Weiters, no matter how Jono Brown was trying to spin it, you killed Dixon!

Stocker and TDK, not sure what’s going on there but let’s reset for next year!

DT I’m sorry this Club decided that halfway thru a season was a great time to call a review - I suspect the ego of the incoming Prez is to blame.  I’m sorry that you weren’t given good assistants or any support from the sidelines and you, like Ratts,
Are in my thoughts.

To the Club, thanks again for ruining my day. Weekend. But more Than that - any board members reading - as someone previously said, by your pathetic governance and support of those in charge, you are ruining the careers of many young men!  Get your heads out of your collective moneyed arses and set your egos aside, and do right by the players ffs!

Micky0, eloquently put.
Was McGovern on the ground?
I know Willo has only got one side to his game but sheesh, I agree how many times can this bloke keep getting caught

I will provide a quote on how i am and the rest of the Carlton members are feeling.

"Oh the pain"

No, we are very good when we WANT to be. Last week we were contrite and put in. when we do, every side has trouble with us. Watch us turn up next week now it's all over. We only had to produce and effort against North and GC and we'd play finals. That's what is the most frustrating. Was such a simple thing to do.

Its hard to work out each week whether it is Carlton playing well or the opposition not playing well. Maybe a bit harsh thinking like this but seeing what this team has been doing over the last few years i am becoming cynical. Now that we have lost Harry, next week will be a bath

My two cents:
We lost the game in the coaches box. I noticed (watching from home) that Pies players played on at every chance. This made our players look flat footed and our coaching panel had not answer for this. Nothing nothing at all.
In the 3rd the Pies stopped playing on and we got ourselves into the game.

A lot did go the Pies way,
when talk of Cox as a footy player is mentioned on this board, then we know things are going well for them
Jones slaps the ball out of a pack and the ball lands to De Goey. How do you defend that?? See just kept ging their way.

I think players are also being played out of position:
SPS is NOT a backman
Setterfield is NOT a wingman.
Murphy is NOT a small forward

I can keep going but worst of all I rejoined as a member today. Does that make sense

Quote from MM (no not Malthouse but Mark Maclure) The Carlton Football Club has gifted games to some very ordinary footballers and today we saw that. I am now going got see the same amount of wooden spoons as I have premiership. (8) This club is on its knees I cannot see anyway out. These so called green shoots are just rubbish. I read on here that we have a talented list Someone convince me PLEASE.

Hi Fellow Blue Baggers,

I havnt read all the posts so I am not sure if this has been said:

What would we be talking about if the likes of Jones, Kerridge, Palmer, Thomas, Jasck, Schemdts, Graham, Buckley played tonight and we still got beaten. We would be calling for blood.

The club warned preseason to expect ups and downs and yes this was a big down.

I am happy to watch the kids play and get beat. Better this then the other way

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Carlton pasted by Pies (Post Game)
Too many failed draft picks is the simple answer.
Since we got back in the draft in 2004 there isn't a single player on our list except Armfield taken outside of the first round apart from a couple in the last few years who have played the odd game and may or may not be on the list in 2017.
That's 10 years of misses, it can't be all bad luck.
Add to that first round misses like Lucas, Watson and Bootsma and there is our problem in a nut shell.
It wouldn't matter who the coach was, we don't have the cattle.

Blue4Life you have got that in one. Dont forget we threw away a round two and three pick for Warnock

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Blues v Pies - Post match analysis
This club has been the same old same old for the last 10 years or so. I cannot see anyway forward for us. Each new coach comes in and says we need talent and class but what the fark has the recruiting guys been doing. It does not seem t get any better.

We have some good players and then we speak about guys like Rowe and Casbolt like they will turn into supr stars and carry the club forward. Are we kidding ourselves?

Every other club seems to get the kids up and running and playing good football or is it that other clubs are picking better than us??

That's my 2 cents worth.   >:(
