Not sure why the rumour was only half right, was all through the sports departments at 4pm. Interesting to see if Macreadie plays today.

Apparently it was announced on a radio station well before I posted

We seem a bit top heavy down back.
Footscray have three tall forwards unavailable so essentially only have Stringer and Redpath yet we are playing Jones, Weitering and Alex Silvagni, and Plowman can also play tall.
I would have liked to see another mobile bloke in like Armfield, or McKay instead of Alex Silvagni to give them something to think about in our front half.
Jones will get Stringer and Weitering Redpath I'd guess.

Cuningham is definitely out with a hip injury. he was replaced on the bench yesterday. However, neither Sumner nor Smedts played today. Macreadie did play and was more than OK. However, he would not be promoted on his performance.

Weitering will play forward.

Plowman will play small.

That leaves the taller, but quick and agile duo of Jones and Silvagni to gold down CHB/FB.

Seems pretty well balanced to me.

Weitering will play forward.

He's not much good as a forward, we should shelve the ides.

Problem is we don't have anyone who is much good as a forward. Gotta play someone there.
Weitering is better than are alternatives.

He is better than Weideman and Schache same age as key forwards.

Weideman has kicked three goals, Schache has kicked six and Weits has kicked seven from less games and younger than the two by few months.

Weiters has played more games back than forward.

Maybe, but who cares?
He's a 10 year key defender who we can build our defence around, why distract him by playing him out of position when we'll finish bottom three anyway?

Do we NEED him in defence?
Macreadie (19)
Marchbank (20)
Plowman (22)
Jones (26)
Rowe (29)
Silvagni (29)

We've got that pretty covered don't ya think?

Yes we do, I think Jones(Assuming this current form isn't an aberration) and Weitering are the KPD pair we should build around for the next major tilt at finals, they could be around for another 6 to 8 years as a stable duo! I like the idea of Marchbank, Plowman, Docherty, Macreadie and Williamson working around them at ground level or pushing forward as I think they are more creative.

Rowe and Silvagni won't be around for a Premiership tilt, Macredie might not make the grade.
Weitering is the pick of them, why ruin what could be a top class defensive unit?
