Robert Heatley Stand / Re: R14 - Carlton vs Giants (In-game thread)
So obvious the better teams like Geelong and hawks in recent weeks play with us.

They do what they need to win and we walk away thinking we aren't far away.

We are mile off a top 8 team let alone top 4.

Gone backwards.

Where are our senior players. Bunch of kids making us look like crap.

Simmo, walker, carrazzo, judd, waite all f$cking sh1t

We have NO leaders to lift us.

Not even one.

Pray the afl change the history and allow us another few cups.  Can't see another one for decades.

Is mick going to say in the presser 'make no mistake we played a very good football team today'

I'm I've this club

Hate this mob with a passion.

Still recall those pr1cks dropping players back when Fev was on 99 goals late in the last game of the season years ago It was the same game Buddy kicked his 100th. They did everything they could to stop Fev and did it while they were in cruise mode with the game in the bag.  :o

Really pissed me off at the time and shows how much arrogance they have.

Back to the game - Apart from Special K and Judd not being 100% match fit we are pretty close to full strength.

They on the other hand are no where near full strength. No Mitchell, no Lake, no Gibson and of course no more Buddy. If we are going to beat them no better time.  If we can hit the scoreboard and take our chances we have a real chance. Need to attack them early and really hard and put there undersized defence under pressure. Then try to hang on as they come back at us late in the 4th. Sounds familiar....... ;)

But having said all that I think if both teams play to there strengths they are too clinical and well drilled for us. Their forwards are still a big worry- Roughead, Cyril, Gunston and then watch how goals they get out of their left footer mids.

Hawks by 3-5 goals.

F*** cant believe even with this line up I still cant see us winning.  >:(

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: R12 - WORST on ground vs Cats
Garlett was ordinary and flinched during marking contests....Eddie would have taken some of those marks IMO and I think the club need to look for another small forward
who has more physical intensity...

Couldn't agree more. I know players can play a bad game but he looked disinterested and scared at times.

Time to send him to the 2s and tell him build a tank and build a heart.

Doubt his type will change - definitely trade bait.

Keep Casboult is a must but garletts game will never stand up when the heat is on so whats the point having him on our list.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 12 : Blues Robbed By Cats (Dispair & Teeth-Grinding)
Havent read the previous posts but did anyone else notice how lazy and disinterested garlett looked late in the game.

Yes he is fast and can crumb a nice goal but FMD when the heat is on his a pussy and prefers to watch then gets his hands dirty. I couldn't believe seeing the fastest player on the ground stand idle in the centre while the opposition had the ball not 5 metres from him. Cant possibly keep his spot next wel against hawks.

And how many overhead marks did he drop when hearing footsteps. Good teams don't carry players like that.

Can blame the umpires again all we like but in the last 5 mins those smoothers, pressure and tackling they put on us lead to their goals.

Why the f*** is our defence so open when they needed to kick 2 goals in the last 2 mins?

Surely we can send spares back at that stage.
So often do we get in a winning position against a good team but just seem to lack the smarts to hold on.

We can do it against average teams but not the better ones.

Knew that result was coming in the dying minutes but so gutted to watch that ducking smiling pr1ck selwood kick the winning ball after doing stuff all during the whole game.

Those who reckon we can afford to trade Casboult better watch this game.

Blah-Blah Bar / Re: Eddie! No!
Did anyone else see him trying to explain that if the goal review shows a finger moving back on a hand that it doesn't mean the ball touched the finger.

Went into examples and each one made no
Sense.

For a very smart man at times his love for the pies makes him lose his sense and say things a one eyed supporter would argue not a well respected president and media head.

By the way he used the Travis cloke  touched goal from the boundary as his reason to question it. Coincidence that it just happened to be a magpie involved.

Please tell me that he won't be commenting on Friday night?

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: R6 - Blues vs Eagles (post match party)
They have a lot of heart this group. Very very gutsy win.

By the way how good was daisys smother.

Can't image another player in our team diving like that.

And how good was warnock tap to Lucas in the last!

Geez i hope yazza is ok for next week. Not without a chance next week.

Buckley has to stay in the team. If cripps has potential what has this guy got. Has poise, balance, heart, guts and explosive pace.

Menzel is all class and garlett played the best game I have seen from him in a long time.

Best win for a while.

Loved seeing cripps push crameri and get in his face.

Flying the flag in game 2 at 19 yo. Make no mistake this kid is going to be a leader of this club.

I tell ya what though, the next target Cripps hits by foot will be his first..... 8)

I agree - don't get the amount of love on here for cripps.

I know his a young solidly built very tall mid that seems to show he has some balls for a 2nd gamer but to me his skills are well below standard and looks snail paced off the mark, has no tank ane very little on the defensive side. Only player 2 games I know but my point is his games is miles off yet he is talked up like he is certain to star and a great draft pick.

Too many on here look at the weight, height and amount of animal a player has rather then actually ability with the pill - you need to get the footy and use it well to make an impression.

Buckley really impressed me and his half the statue of cripps.  Cripps need time but so far IMO has show very little to suggest he is a future leader and a star in the making like many on here are suggesting.

Menzel and Buckley are big chances to make it I reckon from what I've seen.

In his last game for the NB'S he racked up 35 touches and turned the game, which we won. Layed tackles and goaled..

That's the 2nds. I lot of average players can smash it there.

Massive step up to the seniors.

Might be ok - my point is he is being built up to be something that his form in the firsts doesn't warrant......not at this stage anyway.

Overall so happy to tough out a win like that. I think that having a few big permanent targets up forward and playing an attacking game with this group anyway its the formula required to get the best result we can.

On the flip side even though it was great to see the response from the leader/senior players- looking to the future and not a heap to be excited about on today's game.

Bell and Levi player their part but white and Rowe are only ever going to be back up defenders, cripps looks very slow to me which is a bit of concern if he wants to be a mid in the modern game. I know it's only his 2nd game but speed is not a area a kid should lack and not sure if you can get it if its not there.

Lucas IMO does not offer enough. Has played enough to really have an impact but just doesn't seem to have it.

Overall would have been happier if the kids had more of a say in the result.

Carrots, Murphy, walker, simmo, Hendo, Waite, curnow, Gibbs and thomas got us the points today. Hendo aside no kids in that bunch.

Sorry if I sound negative because im still rapt with the win, showed a lot of heart. Play with that gameplan and intensity and i think we are a good chance to win 2 out if the next 3.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: R2 : Blues V Tigers (Venting & Vitriol)
Enough doom and gloom. Were some positives i thought.

I accept we are not a top 4 team so not judging us like we are.

Nice to see some of the kids show something.

Bell, Buckley and even (Menzel and Lucas in the last quarter) all contributed and had important touches. Thomas looked better for the run and Murphy tried his heart out.

Considering we had No Judd, kruezer, walker, carrazzo and little impact from Gibbs not all is lost.
