Robert Heatley Stand / Re: 2018 Rd 20: Post Game Calm & Civilized Discussion: Carlton vs GWS
You know how injury hit they are?

They had 16 on the ground and outscored us 7 goals to 1 in the last qtr. That you don't have patience with. That's a sacking.

Yes that's right. Disgusting effort. Walked out at the 10 min mark of the last 1/4. Listened to the reminder of the match on the way home and they were panning us left right and centre.'It was embarrassing and soul crushing.

Much better effort today. If they can bring that effort every week then we will be a lot more competitive against most sides. Losing Cas before the game and replacing him with O'shea put us behind the eight ball before the bounce. FFS why replace a big guy with a small guy who is a spud!!!!! Some observations.

SOS - A horrible first quarter. 3 howlers in row before steadly improving throughout the game. Something to work with.

Charlie - Boy am i looking forward to watching this guy tear teams apart in the future.

Dow - Really like how this guy is progresing had the glasses on him and his work in close is first class for an 18 year old. Will only get better.

Kennedy - Played a full game for the first time this year and showed that he can add something to the team.

Cripps - What a beast. Please please Carlton sign him up untill he's 30. Heart and soul of the club and a future captain.

O'Brien - First year player who runs and runs. That run and kick to Charlie was first class.

Weitering - Much better game today. Hope he gets some confidence from today and finishes off the year on a high.

At least 2, I can't remember the 3rd, but had a few turnovers and also an out of bounds on the full from a set shot.

Gutted to not win, but they played well today and didn't need a lot of things to change to have turned that into a win. Considering the injuries before half time, that is a fair effort.

I love watching Kreuzer this year. Beaten in taps today, but was all over the ground.
Some really good contested grabs by Casboult, perhaps 5? Could have done better with his last two kicks in particular, but he did play a good game. Charlie was immense in the 1st half. I thought Murphy, Gibbs and co all played well as did Simmo, Plowman and Doc up back.

Just started reading this so it may of already been discussed.

It was Sheean, crape himself and handballed directly to Melbourne player which led to the goal that put them in front. Took my daughter with me yesterday, as she only comes a couple of times a year, she has not seen a win for about 3 years, I said to her that she may be able to sing the song at the end of the game as I thought we were in with a real chance in the last 1/4.

I think Simmo had a free kick coming to him against Jetta on the wing in the last couple of minutes. If we win that contest or free kick we kick a certain goal as Doc was streaming down the centre by himself, that would of put us up by a few points I think at that time and with our experience at been so close in a few games we could of killed the ball and locked it in to hold on for the win.. So close yet so far.

Team effort.
Cripps two goals and his marking in the forward line. If he can keep that up he will be even more dangerous with mis matches over smaller defenders. Just adds another string in our forward mix.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: 2017 Rd 8: After Game Analysis: Carlton vs St Kilda
I went to the game yesterday not looking at winning as saints have been playing pretty good footy this year and are on track to play finals all going well for them. I would of taken a 4 goal loss considering they have smashed us the last couple of years.

Loved that saints had to come down to our level as they could not break into their normal game style. Durig the third quater they  criscrossed their half back line a few times trying to find a way out. I just thought at the time that the had to revert to plan b to score as we had stopped their normal run and carry which we have had no answers to the last couple of years.

Levi did not have a good game yesterday. One thing i did notice was that he twice did not make the distance from the 50 both times landing in the square. In other years he has easily made the distance and kicked goals, his only issue been when close to goal. This year his goal kicking from close in has improved significantly with his new technique under sav's coaching. I'm just wondering if this new technique has cost him kicking distance and if this will be the next step that will need be addressed? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Round 7 Green Shoot of the Week!!
Don't normally post, however my green shoot that I  would like to mention is Charlie C. He was on Reid in the second half and ran him around ragged and nullified his output as he was marking everything that came down his way in the first half. In a post match interview on an ABC Reid acknowledged Charlie's running capacity and found it hard to keep up. So if this was by design it was a good coaching move by Bolts and his staff. Just goes to show that even with his drink driving indiscretion before he was drafted we were not put off by it at all.

It was on Channel 10 news as play of the day. Commentators were laughing their heads off. Someone found it and she said yes. The look on the guys face was priceless.

Our last game for the year against the Drug Cheats early on Sunday. Interesting to see if we can repeat the effort we put in today. I didn't think we could pull today off, as we are terrible at milestone games now. However, I hope we can give the Drug Cheats exactly what they deserve.
I expect to be there for a change. :) That will probably hurt us more than help us, but I'm not going to miss this one!

Saturday @ 2:10 pm Crash.

No Smith? Well, he is probably gone anyway. No Gorringe? No idea what that means! Skittles on the bench? That bodes poorly for him.
To be honest, if we played at our best we could beat this lot. But we haven't and don't look like it. They killed us last time.

Gorringe is injured and will not play again this season. Hip issue as reported by McKay last week I think.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Rd 19: Post Game Intensive Analysis: Carlton vs Hawthorn
Two things I am fairly sure of:
1. This year was all about defence, defence and more defence. Fwd line, meh!
2. We were aiming to be competitive with out compromising obtaining a low draft pick.

Have to agree GTC. This year is all about learning the game plan built around team defense. So I can see were

Bolts is coming from in this regard. I remember when Ratts first took over and the thing that he instilled in

the players was to hold onto the ball and chip it around in the back half. Possession game to build confidence

and get the players use to the way he wanted to play. The game plan then changed as the players got more confidence and he in them.
