Would much rather be playing them in 5 or 6 weeks after they have travelled repeatedly... Kruezer would be a massive out... and they have shown a bit pre-season.
Agreed. Little Zac has shown a very steady rate of improvement. He always looks so focussed. Maybe that's why he's progressed so well. That and his increasing tank. It's likely we have a capable Murphy replacement. He's becoming one of my favorites. His kicking is superior to many of our seasoned players as is his attack on the ball. Like a Jack Russell Terrier is our Fisher.
Next to Curnow, thought he was one of the big positives.
Easily his best game - looked like an AFL player, and will get better.
Bear, those teething issues seem to be mainly affecting us. In fact, to all outward appearances, we are the only club that has fallen in heap. That's the big worry for mine.
There are clearly some issues... i’m not denying that. Some key people have been moved on.
Need to be careful about no-name websites writing “articles” that contain a lot of rumours... and saying that our existence is threatened, or the AFL should step in is a massive call.
Especially when you click on the author’s name, and he looks like a 15 year old who has been smoking bongs while listening to some early Metallica records on high rotation.
There are clearly some issues around the list... but we were competitive last year, and won our first 2 games this year.
Then it all went to sh1t after Davey got injured... but at that point, our list wasn’t looking completely hopeless. Take the star player out of the AFLW teams and it makes a huge difference (although we have fallen off a cliff).
New coach, new game plan, get some new players in... I’m not saying we haven’t had issues, but the article/blog is way over the top.
As for players getting upset or Davey wanting out - if that’s the case (and we should remember it is speculation)... then we should be trading them out pretty quickly.
Also need to keep in mind the AFLW was thrown together quickly... teething issues around communication and structure would be expected.
It was really minor, but player contact in cricket is an absolute no-no... plus he has a bad record... deserved to miss games. So did Warner and DeKock.
However, i’m pretty excited about the last two tests... Rabada’s opening spell to Warner in the 2nd innings was the sort of stuff that makes cricket a great sport.
It'll sort over time. With a pathway now for women alot more juniors will play hence alot more talent will come through the system. That'll flow through over the next 5-6 years. It has to start somewhere.
Short-sighted people will look at the "now" and say it's no good, those that think a bit more will se that, like any new competition, it will improve as grass roots depth improves.
A lot to like, but the Hawks really should have won that by 4-5 goals... i like that we are making a real effort to move it forward quickly, but we are going to get punished against the better teams for errors... a few too many of them last night given rd 1 is not far away.
