Re: Voting for the Jim Park Medal: Rd 8: Carlton vs St. Kilda Reply #9 – May 14, 2014, 02:03:04 pm Team: B-There were some very good moments, especially in the 2nd quarter, but too may when we made almost as many errors as they did.Votes:[2] Gibbs[2] Murphy[2] Simpson[1.5] Yarran[1.5] Menzel[1] Rowe[1] Jamison[1] McLean[1] Buckley[0.5] White[0.5] Warnock[0.5] Armfield[0.5] DochertyExplanations:[2] Gibbs Fantastic game and 38 possessions.[2] Murphy Gave St. Kilda the complete run around.[2] Simpson Brilliant when the game needed to be won.[1.5] Yarran Spectacular and consistent[1.5] Menzel About 3 good quarters and some lovely snaps.[1] Rowe Great job in defence[1] Jamison Ditto[1] McLean Excellent in the middle.[1] Buckley Loved the drive and run he provided from defence.[0.5] White Kept his opponents very quiet.[0.5] Warnock Did well in the ruck[0.5] Armfield Took out a dangerous opponent who usually runs amok against us. Loved his ace and his tackling.[0.5] Docherty Good effort, good interceptions and nice pace out of defence and in attack.Honourable Mentions:Walker Good, solid effortRobinson Somewhat quiet, but had some real Robbo moment.Casboult Took some great grabs.Thomas: I want to mention Thomas. Apparently Malthouse decided to use him knowing he was restricted in pace and endurance, as a decoy to take Dempster out of the game, similarly to how he has used Armfield. He did it pretty well and he did captain the forward 50 very effectively. His endeavour in smothering and chasing was excellent. He succeeded in his job: Dempster was a non-contributor. However, Thomas had only 8 possessions.I have some questions over playing a guy like Thomas in this regard Quote Selected
