Yes I agree and may all the wishes of all posters come true in 2015, so a flag is a certainty.

Merry Xmas to all. If you're a kid, it's a special day. For the rest of us, at least it's a holiday and an excuse for a piss-up.

Back when I was a kid, Xmas TV was dominated by US TV series which felt the need to have special Xmas episodes that swam in smaltz. All that sugar would have been no good for diabetics. But SBS is running the Godfather trilogy from Xmas Eve to Boxing Day. There's progress for you.

I've learnt the true meaning of Xmas from Michael Corleone as well as useful ways to deal with annoying in-laws tomorrow. I also wondered how many actresses have had better box-office success than Talia Shire - Godfather I, II and III as well as Rocky I, II, III, IV and V. But that's enough of the Xmas reflections for now.

Problem with this when I was a kid Mav was that all these sugary Christmas specials were shown in June or July in Australia.
