We've actually been not bad.  Buckley has given us run.  Broky has shown us why they picked him.  Hendo has been great.  But Jones is a hack and Rowe is possibly the worst footballer currently in the league.  But they keep playing him.

Jones hasn't been given much chop from the umps.
Despite that, if he had've kicked straight from 20m out, he'd have 3 goals by now.
Yes, he has made the easy look impossible, but its nothing we cannot fix.

Rowe just looks completely out of sorts. Maybe he doesn't have a decent matchup? He was great last year, but average this year.

LOL at Malthouse screaming and yelling at the players in the changerooms. Hey Mick, guess what? That stops working after a while you absolute overpaid douche.

Tell that to Rocket and Lake. ;)

Lets see how Casboult plays in the 2nd half. Some players respond to a rev.
Some don't.

Half time:
Carlton 6 - 4 - 40
St. Kilda 8 - 6 - 54

We have dominated the stats sheet.
192 disposals to 152
Clearances 25 to 19, with 9 centre clearances to 4.
14 free kicks to 6.
29 inside 50's to 25.
83 contested possessions to 68
30 hit outs to 24.
And yet we cannot kick a goal.

What does this say about our skills? Do we have any?
What does this say about our playing list? Granted that we are missing
[1] Menzel
[2] Judd
[3] Kreuzer
[4] Warnock
[5] Yarran
[6] Thomas
[7] White
[8] Byrne
[9] Sheehan

and had Tutt pull out on the morning of the game. It is a not a positive position to be in.

Rowe is playing like he normally would, he had one breakout season (ie. purple patch) at CHB and people are now expecting him to play at that level all the time but he is not capable of reproducing it.

First time in a decade  :)) That's a bit scary actually, no doubt the umpires will get it in their head that they need to even that out in the second half :(

It's time Hendo was back there!

The reason we have so many contested possessions is because we are so slow

It's true, plus we have a game plan that creates stoppages and contested possessions even when we are occasionally using the ball well our game plan makes a stoppage!

So in this respect the stats are a bit of a lie!

FYI, I heard the "Expert Commentators" on radio complaining that Freo's tackling is down this year, King, Luff and  Half on SEN. That is because Freo's clear possessions and efficiency is up about 20% and nobody is getting close enough to them to create a turnover! They ignore that teams tackle when they don't have the ball!

For the betting types - we're $2. Looked like the Saints stopped running in that quarter. They could be buggered and are an awful list. Easy way to double your money IMO.

It's great, the players can't get enough ball or use it well enough! :D

Things of note while munching on fush n chups and a packed chilly bin..

We are very highly killed team.
Our ball use around stoppages is to die for.
We always put the ball on the chest by hand or foot.
Use of the ball around the ground is always to our advantage.
The leaders out there lead by example.
We always work well together and communicate, we never get to many at the ball.
Four up and none down is a certain way to will a contest.  etc etc

Carrazzzo , Murphy, Gibbs are superstars who perform week in, week out.

You mean the bloke that's kicked half our goals and our seasons leading goal kicker needs to be played out of range of goal!

That would be like trying to stop the ocean by adding some sand bags, you know eventually the ocean will win! Better off to just let him learn to swim!
