Jim Park Voting: Rd #6 Carlton vs. Brisbane May 10, 2015, 10:38:46 pm Another sub standard performance and a definite indication that we are headed for the Spoon. I really do not like this: our effort was just not good enough. However, some guys do need a reward: Tom Bell, for example.Remember:[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F. Please don't leave this blank. Our guys do not deserve the default setting (B).[4] Votes must add up to 15. Quote Selected

Re: Jim Park Voting: Rd #6 Carlton vs. Brisbane Reply #10 – May 11, 2015, 11:05:39 am Team: DI was really disappointed with a lot of aspects with yesterday’s game. When it really counted we were found wanting. Our skills were deplorable. We had opportunities, but did not take them. However, some of our guys found a little form and, for most of the game, we were the better side. It made losing all that less palatable. Votes:[4] Bell[2.5] Judd[2.5] Curnow[2] Casboult[1.5] Docherty[1] Gibbs[0.5] Cripps[0.5] Tuohy[0.5] MurphyExplanation:[4] Bell: One of Bell’s best games. His attack on the ball and his decision making was very good.[2.5] Judd 22 possessions and each one was golden. We are going to so miss him next year.[2.5] Curnow: His best game for the year by a LONG way. He used his strength well and really beat his man. Rich got 8 possessions for the day.[2] Casboult: His best game for the year. He was competitive in the ruck and took some excellent grabs. His kicking, especially across his body, was much improved. [1.5] Docherty: Was pretty good in defence and played like he really cared.[1] Gibbs: His best game of the year by a huge margin, but still well down on what he can really do. Still, his possessions were more effective and he had a lot of tackles.[0.5] Cripps: Cripps was quieter than he has been, especially after half time. He still did some very nice things and showed class.[0.5] Tuohy: For 3 quarters he was excellent and kept his opponents quiet.[0.5] Murphy: Played a lot more up forward and did OK, but still well below his best.Honourable Mentions:Armfield: Dennis seemed to be in everything. It really surprised me that he had so few possessions. However, he does provide pace and aggression in our forward half.Thomas: He needed the run. In the end he did OK, but he was just ordinary.Wood: Worked hard and was on top of the Brissbane rucks for much of the game. When he lost control, we lost control of the game.Smith: Still a LONG way to go, but this was his best game by a long way, especially in the first half.Jaksch: Did quite well against the resting rucks, but he does make mistakes and he lost concentration a couple of times. He has a long way to go, but he didn’t embarrass himself.Other Comments:We really lack heart. When it comes to putting the body on the line, we just didn’t do it. If we are playing for the coach, then I'm an arthropod. Quote Selected

CasboultThe rainmaker kick to position is the biggest reason we are having issues. If we flatten our kicks more and actually kick to a target rather than to an area, we will start performing much better. Quote Selected
