I don't want pick 1.

It never. Turns out to be the best player of that draft.

I want pick 2.

Let's get some wins.

It would be better for us if Jaksch kicks six goals, and we win by thirty after a dominant Whiley performance than to lose and get pick 1.

I'd like pick 1 so we can nab a good player coming out of contract in the PSD and not have to trade for them...beating Brisbane doesnt count for much IMO and
I have my doubts on their winning intentions for this game anyway as they are in the same situation as us...

I agree on the PSD. Almost as good as having pick one in the National Draft. I could live with pick 2 as I still think we'll get Weitering but if we win we probably go ahead of Gold Coast and that's pick 3.

Let's not forget that we have to lose comfortably for the Lions to make up the % to go above us and get pick 1 as well.

If you are picked at 2 you have a point to prove! ;)

Do you live in a cloud kingdom full of lollipop horses?

I'd love for this to happen, what are the chances?

Winning will see us leap above the GOLD Coast.

This isn't about pick one, its about wither Shache or Weitering.

Damn, I thought we had a game up our sleeves. We'll probably see Watto in for Jamo.

In fairness though this is a weak draft. Weitering could be the next Jack Watts and Scache the next Lachie Whitfield.

I think it's more "shallow" than "weak" and if we're going into the draft with that attitude then we may as well just trade our picks for players.

I'm just saying I don't think it's worth throwing a games for and I don't think we are.

Lions are at home. They will get over the line as they will run us off our legs.

I think shallow is more accurate than weak, but there is always a chance that top draft picks will flop - as we, and the supporters of several other clubs, well know.  I'd be more inclined to pick Francis but that's a topic for another thread.

Our 22 is far from our best but I'd like to think that we're in with a chance.  I'll be disappointed if we don't give it a red hot go!

Best way to look at it. If we were vying for a position in the 8 our selections would, of course, be different. But we're not, we're at the bottom of the table and already looking to next year in terms of assessing who gets a guernsey at year's end and who gets traded and who gets the heave ho. Of course you play the kids. Of course you don't take the slightest risk with injured blokes. Of course you put injured blokes out for surgery. Of course you experiment.

To the cynical mind you could mount a conspiracy case for tanking but to me it looks as if we're doing exactly what we should be doing in the best long term interest of the club factoring in the reality of where we are right now. I still think we're in with a good chance to win tomorrow and against Melbourne and against GWS.

It's one of the main reasons when I was in Oz (back later in the year... yah!) to go see NBs games, to see who's coming through. Winning was great, but if we lost but a newbie shone - great stuff. If we win tomorrow night - great. But if we lose and we get another game into blokes who might not have otherwise gotten one - great, more preparation for 2016. If we get a look at someone under real heat in preparation for 2016 who might not have gotten a gig this year - great. And you can bet that the Aints, cheats.com.au, GCS and Dees are doing exactly the same thing but because there're not as close to the bottom as us and BrisVegas there is no tanking suspicion.

I agree....but i thought i did all that about 10 years ago!
