Jim Park Voting: Round 21: Carlton vs. Melbourne August 23, 2015, 08:51:17 pm I have never felt so ambivalent about a win before, but it just didn't feel like a normal win today. In some ways it was: we lost 3 players to injury, 3 of our most important in Murphy, Kreuzer and Jamison, yet we won.Give the guys what they deserve. It looks like we have avoided the wooden spoon, though I have no idea how we could have won.Remember:[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F. [4] Votes must add up to 15. Quote Selected

Re: Jim Park Voting: Round 21: Carlton vs. Melbourne Reply #6 – August 24, 2015, 12:28:54 am I know JK, there were more winners on the park today than we have had for a long time. If only this was a standard the playing field offered every week. Then again it was Melbourne. A better side would have less than half the players getting points. Quote Selected

Not a criticism because you can vote how you want but I thought it may have been an oversight that's all. Quote Selected

Re: Jim Park Voting: Round 21: Carlton vs. Melbourne Reply #11 – August 24, 2015, 09:16:50 am Team: BOur first half was brilliant. Our 3rd quarter was rubbish and we showed a lot of grit in the last. But I still feel very weird about this game.Votes:[3] Cripps[2] Murphy[2] Kreuzer[1.5] Walker[1.5] Rowe[1] Jamison[1] Docherty[1] Simpson[0.5] Tutt[0.5] Curnow[0.5] Buckley[0.5] TuohyExplanations:[3] Cripps: I barely need to explain this choice. He was tagged heavily by Melbourne’s best tagger and he took him to the cleaners.[2] Murphy: Clearly BOG until he was injured. We lacked drive when he went off.[2] Kreuzer: Pounded in the ruck, but dominant around the ground.[1.5] Walker: His best game for a long time and a sign of his future – kicking goals.[1.5] Rowe: Very good in defence, where he took his opponents to the cleaners, and serviceable in the ruck when Kreuzer was off with his back injury.[1] Jamison: Gave Hogan a lesson. Again, he went off with injury which hurt us, but he was dominant in defence while he was on.[1] Docherty: Excellent game in defence.[1] Simpson: Not as good in the air this week, but strong, gutsy and kept his opponents close to kickless.[0.5] Tutt: He had an excellent first half and a good last quarter.[0.5] Curnow: Solid and effective.[0.5] Buckley: Really good in defence, where his run and pace was instrumental in our forward moves. [0.5] Tuohy: Very solid and took his opponent apart.Honourable Mentions:Watson: Stats claimed he had 6 marks. That is not correct, he had at least 8. He was solid and gave a target.Dick: Did his job well, but didn’t get a lot of the ball himself.Whiley: Very good in the 1st half but not much after half time. He attacked the ball well.Boekhorst: Very good early but died out of the game.Jaksch: Solid. Did his job and took a couple of very nice marks.Carrazzo: Solid and kept his opponents very quiet.
