The Cybertruck actually prevented more damage and held up well containing internally what was a apparently crudely made explosive device, Musk helped his mate out again it seems....
You have to wonder if this is going to be an ongoing feature of the Trump reign this time around with random attacks on the man himself or his property etc every so often.

Yes the Cybertruck was very effective in minimising the damage.

While it seems that Shamsud-Din Jabbar was motivated by his support for ISIS, Matthew Livelsberger's motives aren't clear.  It seems that he took his own life before the detonation, but who knows what that means.  What we do know is that the POTUS-elect inspires hatred from individuals across the entire political spectrum.

Reported that Sgt Livelsberger had been living out of the family home since Christmas and there were issues of infidelity, he said he wouldnt hurt anyone though. I read he voted for Trump so is there any political about face? or was it triggered by his personal problems and obviously you would think he was highly strung after his military service in the middle east and maybe had some post stress disorder that was undiagnosed. You have to wonder how many more ticking time bombs there are in the community waiting for a trigger to detonate and there just doesnt seem the support or care out there for these service people who come home with all sort of mental conditions.

I think that's spot on EB and the POTUS-elect's propensity to denigrate former and current members of the armed forces could well be a trigger for many.

The USA probably has way more than its share of ticking time bombs originating from any number of sources ...

From Yahoo News..
A note left behind on an iPhone has revealed a partial motive for why Matthew Livelsberger blew himself and a Cybertruck up in front of Donald Trump’s hotel in Las Vegas this week.

The 37-year-old Green Beret, who the FBI says suffered from post traumatic stress disorder, had “no animosity” for Trump and wrote that the explosion was “not a terrorist attack.”

However, Livelsberger did make clear that he was displeased with the state of the country.

Despite Livelsberger proclaiming that blowing up a Cybertruck in a location where it could have resulted in multiple casualties was “not a terrorist attack,” the fact that his message expressed his displeasure with the state of the country means that is domestic terrorism as defined by the FBI.

It's fortunate that Tesla's engineers put a lot of work into making the Cybertruck as unbreakable as possible.

We probably shouldn't try to find 'reason' in folks whose reason has left them.
Their thinking is all askew.
I was watching an interview with Charles Manson the other day(as is my wont :))
The guy was quite reasoned, and talking about the problems of the world, and his concerns, making some strong points about where he thought society had gone wrong.
He was quite 'reasoned'.... until he wasn't.
And the personality changed completely, and the arms started thrashing in a cutting fashion and the expletives started to flow.
And I thought "There it is!"

Whenever you can't explain the actions of someone i always refer everyone to the movie falling down.

A masterpiece in explaining the human condition and why perfectly rational human beings become pumpkin heads.

If you think Google and the Internet is going to save you from the tyranny of dictatorship under billionaires like Trump and Musk, think again.

In preparations for the new era of the Trump regime, Meta has started off the year by axing all the contracted individuals and companies that provide fact checking facilities for various online services. No it wasn't AI doing the cross checking, the AI claim / visage is smoke and mirrors as is much of the process behind Meta and Google, the fact checking is actually hundreds if not thousands of low income people, bums on seats, employed in countries like the Philippines or Uganda, cross checking the bullcrap level of social media and various news services.

How dare any "3rd class global citizens" tell a fat ar5e American Billionaires they are wrong! ;)

What is this 1984, will Trump change his name to Baron Harkonnen? :o

Trump has said today that Canada should be part of the USA and that they are subsidized by America to the tune of $200 Billion each year.
Trump said he will exert economic pressure on Canada to make it happen...Xi, Putin and Trump are all expansionist leaders and it's just their methods that differ it seems.

This is going to make a great mini-series someday......
This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?

It's a great idea.
I've always found it hard to get my head around the fact that Alasksa is separated from the 'lower 48'.
It just doesn't look right on a map :D
(Trumpy has a bit of work to do though, because 82 % of Canadians aren't too keen on the idea.)

I reckon we should have a crack at New Zealand. ;)  :D

I bet Putin wishes Russia hadn't sold Alaska ...

As for New Zealand, Section 6 of our Constitution says:  "The States shall mean such of the colonies of New South Wales, New Zealand, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia, and South Australia, including the northern territory of South Australia, as for the time being are parts of the Commonwealth, and such colonies or territories as may be admitted into or established by the Commonwealth as States; and each of such parts of the Commonwealth shall be called a State."

I don’t think there’s anything in the constitution that would prevent us selling Tasmania to New Zealand 🤔

Meanwhile, King Frederik of Denmark has changed the royal coat of arms to more prominently feature Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

Apart from the signals to Putin and Xi, I guess that going to war with Denmark is one way to get rid of the NATO alliance.

In fact, it will only be the “Land of the Free” where users will determine what’s false information.  The rest of the world will continue as is 🙄
