On these and pretty much every election claim, he has done the complete opposite.

The only difference between RedTrump and Putin is that Putin has no interest in influencing western media, because Putin doesn't give a rats-ar5e about the media or ratings, while ratings are RedTrump's primary concern.

Not even Putin is / was bold enough to organise a riot in Washington! ;)

That sort of behavior is an indictment on both of them, and others. The fact that he is such a baby and is so easily played, and the fact that diplomats, business leaders, world leaders and others would stoop so low as to lick his saggy, sorry ar$e. Have some f%%^^ng principles and self respect. Capitulating to bullies just encourages them to bully you more.

Couldn't agree more Paul.  While flattering and kowtowing to a narcissistic bully may get the outcome you desire, it's hardly good leadership and does little to make the world a better place.  Zelenskyy fluctuates between standing up to Taco and bending over backwards, but he's in a difficult predicament.  Musar of Slovenia, Colombia's Petro, Ireland's Micheál Martin, Brazil's da Silva and, leading the way, Carney, Sheinbaum, Frederiksen, Steinmeier and von der Leyen, are shining lights in how they don't take a backward step when confronted by Taco.

While I agree with the general sentiment.

The political art would be to make him think he is a winner, when in reality it is you getting what you want!

RedTrump is a gunna man, he's gunna do this, he's gunna do that, his followers stop the assessment there and he is happy for them not to look deeper.

Foreign bureaucrats can depend on a couple of things, RedTrump will feather his nest and take any credit whenever the opportunity arrives.

btw., RedTrump, Rudd, Albanese or not, this is Australia making a deal with America. I think we did a good job of not making the recent China military activity an issue, that is what China would have wanted, they would have wanted us to focus on the guns and forget the minerals. When that 'flares' story hit the airwaves yesterday the first thing I said to my wife was, "They don't want us talking mining, they want us talking guns!"

Rudd aside...and the issues between them are well known through the Nigel Farage interview with Trump.

Do our own feelings regarding Trump cloud our judgement in some respects?
I thought Albanese handled himself quite well in the meetings.
He looks to have come away with some good results for the country.
He hasn't antagonised Trump in any way
He hasn't seemed to be anyting other than diplomatic.
He was respectful without fawning.
It will be largely spun as positive.

We don't need to 'shirt front' a bloke just to demonstrate bogus strength when we can achieve results through a good old sit-down.

The Taco-Rudd kerfuffle was most likely a setup with all parties briefed and agreeing to the script … provided that Taco could remember.

Taco explaining water to USN sailors: "You take a little glass of water, you drop it on magnets — I don’t know what’s going to happen."

This was part of a rant about the electromagnetic catapults used on the Ford class carriers and his threat to issue an executive order requiring the shipyard to revert to the steam catapults based on the RN design developed in the 1950s.  Taco claimed to have spoken to the naval architect responsible for the Ford class carriers and the architect confessed to Taco that he'd never designed a ship before.   In fact, Newport News Shipbuilding designed the Ford class and every other USN nuclear powered carrier. 

This was the day before Japanese PM Takaichi had to shepherd Taco through a welcoming ceremony after he wandered off and clearly had no idea what was going on.

He really is as mad as a cut snake.

Taco says “Some of the highest quality 24 Karat Gold used in the Oval Office and Cabinet Room of the White House. Foreign Leaders, and everyone else, ‘freak out’ when they see the quality and beauty. Best Oval Office ever, in terms of success and look!!!”

And for once, he’s right; foreign leaders, and everyone else, freaks out when they see what the deranged property developer has done to what used to be a dignified, tastefully decorated, people’s building.  It’s now as trashy as anything else Taco’s grubby, grasping, grifter’s fingers have touched.

Apart from concreting the Rose Garden and demolishing the East Wing, without appropriate permits, funding approvals and tendering, Taco has just had a classic 1950s art-deco toilet transformed into trailer-trash kitsch.

Imagine if our Governor-General unilaterally tried to turn Yarralumla into a down-market, cheap, poor taste version of the Spearmint Rhino 🙄
