SCOTUS has overturned Taco’s tariffs, ruling that he wrongfully used emergency powers.  The decision reflects earlier court decisions and legal opinions but you have to wonder about a system that allows unconstitutional measures to remain in place for 12 months.

Of course, Taco is outraged and isn’t holding back in his criticism of SCOTUS, calling the judges “fools and lapdogs”.  Now, that’s a phrase that wouldn’t have been out of place in the vocabulary of Cold War era communist leaders.

The ruling probably means that the US government has to pay back the $100 billion ripped off its citizens but Taco is vowing to reimpose a 10% global tariff.  That undermines his trade imbalance justification and is clearly just revenue raising.  Meanwhile, the US trade deficit has hit a new high; $1.2 trillion!

It really is like watching a slow motion train wreck 🙄

An Australian politician can lose their job for accepting a bottle of wine as a gift. 

Meanwhile, Taco, his family and his cabinet are flat out squeezing every cent they can out of merchandise, insider trading, concessions from foreign governments, and anything else they can make a buck from.

But, back to the SCOTUS decision and Taco’s intention to press on with more tariffs.  That’s grounds for impeachment and the ever-decreasing GOP majority is looking more and more shaky as Republicans weigh up the Constitution and loyalty to a senile megalomaniac.

We are the same here just on a smaller scale.

You dont have to look far - 15-30Billion of our money spent on hookers, drugs and bikies and despite you mark my words no one will be directly held responsible.

And when your questioned the old ' I cant recall defence' seems to work or a mystery medical issue that affects memory may just strike and your next out is ready to go.

Sadly we tend focus more on the matters we for whatever reason are more invested in but sadly they are all tarred with the same brush DJC

It’s very different Shawny.  We have corruption commissions that, by and large, hold politicians and bureaucrats to account. We also have criminal codes and police that should pursue allegations of fraud, extortion, theft.

There’s no way that the Lutniks could get away with their nice little earner under our judicial and government system.

If you had a 'Medal of Honor' you would seriously consider returning  it. ::)  ::)
The award would be 'forever devalued' (or at least until a new regime restored sanity)....if Trump awarded himself the medal.
You wouldn't want to be associated with it...(until the Dems got in and stripped him of it) ;)

The equivalent would be Tony Abbott awarding himself the Victoria Cross for his 2013 visit to Tarin Kot.  I don't have a lot of time for Abbott but I'm sure that giving himself any award for doing a fairly routine but high risk PM task would have never have crossed his mind.  I'm also sure that the first to 44th and 46th US Presidents would never have given a moment's thought to giving themselves any award.

Only one US President has received the Congressional Medal of Honour; Theodore Roosevelt was awarded it posthumously in 2001 for bravery during the 1898 Battle of San Juan Hill.  Harry Truman turned it down because it was offered for his cumulative military service rather than an act of bravery and he felt that would devalue the award. In fact, by law, only US military who distinguish themselves "through conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty" can receive the medal.

Medal of Honor, Nobel prize....Archibald Prize next
He's living in a fantasy world.

But the cracks are showing.
His days are numbered.
His party (and appointees) are starting to distance themselves,
Some can hardly wait.
It'll be a trickle at first, and then the dam will burst.

The concern is that once he realises the end is close, what ridiculous thing (like starting a war with no winners) will he end with.
