Re: VFL Rd 2: Northern Blues vs. Geelong Reply #81 – April 15, 2016, 09:42:49 pm This is some special result. The Baby Blues haven't been able to pull off something like this in a long while.Blues 104Pussies 90Siren gone! Actually, 16 - 8 - 104 is pretty good kicking from us. Now if only the seniors can pull off that sort of effort. Quote Selected

Re: VFL Rd 2: Northern Blues vs. Geelong Reply #83 – April 15, 2016, 09:46:55 pm 3/4 time possessions:DISPOSALS: White 21, Tutt 16, McGuinness 15, Dick 15, Wilson 15, Gowers 13. 3/4 time goals:GOALS: Jones 4, Jaksch 3, Bransgrove, Kerbatieh, Cuningham, Tutt. From the sounds of things a few older heads made quite a difference.I am looking forward to reading the reports this week. Final Goals:GOALS: Jones 5, Jaksch 3, Gorringe 2, Kerbatieh 2, Gowers, Tutt, Bransgrove, Cuningham. This would be Jones' best effort in our colours. He dominated against a very weak Frankston last year, but this time he had serious opponents and delivered. I wouldn't want to get carried away, but just maybe he may be turning the corner.Final disposals:DISPOSALS: White 22, Tutt 21, McGuinness 20, Wilson 20, Dick 18, Gowers 15. White only 1 possession in the last quarter. Tutt had 6. Quote Selected Last Edit: April 15, 2016, 09:51:22 pm by crashlander

White only 1 possession in the last quarter. Tutt had 6.Too me it looked like someone got Jones over summer and taught him to be a real key forward, not some mad monk who'd fly at packs, drop it and then nothing happened, bar the odd week where he could hold them. This time he knew how to read the play, lead, position his body and taken genuine contested marks one on one. Whoever worked with him over summer has done an outstanding job. Some of his other work was outstanding too. Was noticing he was kicking goals with the NB's but being Jones thought nothing of it. tonight was an eye-opener. Remember I was as anti-Jones as any supporter could possibly be. Jaksch was certainly good but Jones was outstanding. Hopefully wasn't one -off but by the way he approached it I don't think it will be. Well done to him. Quote Selected Last Edit: April 15, 2016, 10:12:32 pm by laj
