Rd 22: Voting August 25, 2013, 08:44:59 am I had all sorts of lines ready for the title, but the anger I feel isn't helping. Nichevo. Next year we have a LOT of wrongs to right, but that is next year. This year we need to vote, for probably the 2nd last time. There were some guys out there who deserve recognition for their efforts.[1] Votes must add up to 15.[2] No more than 10 votes to any individual.[3] At least 3 players need to be mentioned.[4] Please include a rating for the team. Re: Rd 22: Voting Reply #12 – August 25, 2013, 09:38:02 pm Team Rating: CConsidering this was the disaster to end all disasters, we actually didn't play that badly for much of the night. kick straight and we would have won easily. However, our inability to win close games and our shocking kicking for goal meant I couldn't justify anything much more than a 'C'.So near, yet so far.Votes:[4] Simpson[2.5] Curnow[1.5] Yarran[1.5] Bell[1] Scotland[1] Warnock[1] Robinson[0.5] Armfield[0.5] Menzel [0.5] Duigan[0.5] Joseph[0.5] JamisonExplanations:[4] Simpson: About the best game Simmo has played, but for his 2 misses from set shots. He was excellent in defence.[2.5] Curnow: Absolutely destroyed Stanton, while getting some very useful possessions himself.[1.5] Yarran: Not anywhere near his best, but he had a decent night and, had his kicking boot been on, could have won us the game. He was always dangerous.[1.5] Bell: Much improved on last week. Loved his run and his strength at the ball.[1] Scotland: Good effort in the back half and a lot of ball.[1] Warnock: Good effort in the ruck. Kept his man to 4 marks, where marking is one of his supposed strengths.[1] Robinson: Not as strong as last week, but a solid effort none the less.[0.5] Armfield: His pace was always a problem for Essendon.[0.5] Menzel : Had we been able to get the ball to him a bit better... menzel showed a fair bit in the air and on the ground. Pity his set shots were totally off target.[0.5] Duigan: A dynamic start early in the game and a very solid negative job thereafter. Nicj showed he has a place in our side. Pity about his 2 misses.[0.5] Joseph: Not much of the pill himself, but his opponents barely got a sniff. Davey was subbed out and his replacement didn't do any better.[0.5] Jamison: Had the taller forward under control. Good early on Daniher, and then obliterated Hurley when he was too good for Waite. Honourable Mentions:Betts: Not anywhere near his best, but he took another small step forward. He missed a couple of goals that he would usually have kicked and it cost us.Gibbs: Not as bad as portrayed elsewhere, he had his opponents under control for the most part. Had he kicked straight he would have been a hero.Murphy: 22 possessions in a tight contest wasn't bad, just not up to the high standard he has set for himself.Tuohy: Could have been the hero, but 3 missed shots was 3 too many, when he normally gets these.
