Can't Cripps wear a helmet that has padding along the chin strap as protection/precaution.
But I suppose we have to weigh up what is this game worth?
 A shot at the finals?
Will we go backwards if we lose?
Will Crippa be worse off if he plays?
...Etc

I'd rest Cripps and Rowe....no need to risk either in a rebuild year, gives some opportunities to other players
and we always have the excuse we were missing two of our key players, so we can downplay an EFC victory if they win...

I'd agree we need to bring in some mature players...Bombers think they have the physical advantage over us and I expect them to go hard on our young blokes so I wouldnt be putting anymore newbie kids in the team and I think another taller player is also necessary...either Jones or Jaksch.
Kerridge on Merrett reads ok to me and I'd have E.Curnow on Heppell...

I'm with EB. I'd like to see Palmer in to add some grunt.

You need to put someone good on Palmer otherwise he will hurt you!
Finals, then 4 in a row!

The helmet is a good point. IIRC Murphy wore one post fractured jaw. I think we then had a little winning streak. He joked about wearing it regardless of need if it helped us win ;D
I guess it also depends on whether it's upper or lower jaw. I'm not sure what Murphy or Cripps have.

Murphy had a fractured cheekbone and a cut to his head, not a jaw injury. Yet another victim of Hodge in full dog mode!

Actually I am surprised Murphy is not still wearing his helmet, he has had quite a few head knocks over the years.

Yep
A victim of "playing kids" without adequate mature protection.

I'm a great fan of having a couple of tough nuts riding shotgun to discourage would be snipers. Touch our kids and you will get it back in spades!

But where will we get them from Cookie?   ;)

We should start by not getting rid of them when we have one! ;)

Can you imagine exposing the kids unguarded to those Kents at CheatsFC?

You may as well just smash-em with a baseball bat, tattoo "CheatsFC Bitch 4-Eva" on their forehead and let Sheedy whip them with a jacket as they run out onto The G!

At least we'll be able to keep up the complaints about our dud drafting for years to come! ::)

Other clubs, we cant seem to draft or breed many of them and the ones we do ie Robbo...we give them away...
Casboult disappointed me vs the Tigers...built like Tarzan but acted like Jane when confronted with Martin....

Actually, I think that most of our new blokes enjoy "flying the flag".  They just need some big, mature bodies in there with them.

Agree EB. I said the exact thing to my daughter!!!

We need a comeback line.  Geez I hate this mob.

Would love to watch Goddard sooking it up walking off the ground after a loss.

It was Weitering and Matt Wright who went into deal with Lewis.....pleasing to see the former flying the flag...Charlie Curnow also has a bit of agro about him...
I'll be interested to see if Essendon pick Heath Hocking, if they do I know what sort of game its going to be....

Couldn't agree more GIC. An athlete and nothing else. He is a depth player at best and we should be playing the kids who can hit targets as they are the future.

Agree 100% gents. What a great test for our young group!
