I suspect that's right.
If you come out and say you're "rebuilding your list" that's a choice you make...and we've done it very publicly.
We had to do it that way to keep the supporters on side.
But you cant say "we're stripping back our list to the bare bones...but give us a priority pick anyway."
It's our choice that we've taken this path.
That's the "out" for the AFL
It won't be rewarded in the short term.
Short term????
We've been in the wilderness since they stole those early picks :o Whats that? 15 years now?
The Dawks were up and down since 91 and bottomed out in the mid 00's and bang they get a P Pick.
We have a case and should push it!
2025... Moir of the same to come

We have had more top picks than anyone and we're still garbage.

Because we've butchered our second, third and fourth rounders, as well as most of our first rounders apart from the number ones.
Watson, Bootsma, Yarran, Boekhorst, Menzel and Lucas were all first rounders in the last 7 or 8 years, all gone except Boekhorst who soon will be, we traded pick 7 for Jaksch and pick 20 for Warnock.
It's no accident that our list is in such bad shape, and it can't be fixed in a year or two.
The only thing in this world worth more than a hill of beans is the Carlton Football Club.

True, wasted picks and failed player development.

Yet they are two things that have clearly improved in the last couple of seasons.

Perhaps they are the only things that have improved over the last two seasons!

We have taken top eight sides to the limit.

Essendon were at full strength and we were missing Cripps, Curnow, ACOS.

I still expect 10 wins next season

With the team we had out there today we shouldn't have even got close. I would rather be in our shoes longer term that the cheats and more than a few other teams.

Were not going to get close to getting a PP because we're not a basket case and the football world knows it.

I am hoping these games will help Fischer as I am not overly impressed with what I am seeing at this minute.

This kid works hard and gets to all the right places, but fumble is an understatement.

He'll be an OK player, but it'll take a few years of injury free development. Having said that, he's yet to show as much as young Buckley did early on.

Plus our 1st rounders have been ok players but not game changing gun players....Weitering looking very shaky too as a No 1 pick...

he panics when he gets the ball... like a hot potato he wants to dish it off as soon as he gets it...... tell him to back himself to run and carry instead of wanting to hand off all the time.

He is a Priddis/Mitchell...an extractor who wants to give the ball off.....he needs some more kegs on the frame, he gets pushed of the ball then is reaching around/fumbling the ball at times because
he doesnt have the body strength to hold his ground....he is a good player in the making IMO.

Since Jones got good I've been checking his stats each week to see how many 1% he racked up ;D

He's been smashing it...usually double anyone else.
Not this week.... Weitering's done him 11-8 :D

I like the young tacker. Shows plenty of zip and unlike Buckley, can lay a tackle and continues to harrass the opposition. He is the least of our problems. List if going to get a big overhaul again. Senior players should not be immune. The more picks we can get the better.

First year kid. That comes with confidence. Club increased his contract by 3 more years until 2020 so they must be happy with him.
