Re: Jim Park Voting: 2019 AFL Rd 14: Carlton vs Fremantle in Perth Reply #7 – July 01, 2019, 09:39:14 pm Team: BI just finished watching the game. It was great to win. However, we were ordinary in the first quarter and we made a lot of opportunities that we didn’t take.Still, this is the 2nd Top 8 team we’ve beaten in 3 games. That is an incredible plus!Votes:[2.5] Marc Murphy[2.5] Ed Curnow[2] Sam Walsh[1.5] Sam Petrevski-Seton[1.5] Matthew Kreuzer[1] Nick Newman[1] Lochie Plowman[0.5] Jack Silvagni[0.5] Levi Casboult[0.5] Caleb Marchbank[0.5] Dale Thomas[0.5] Liam Jones[0.5] Kade SimpsonExplanations:[2.5] Marc Murphy: Murphy’s best game for some time in a mainly midfield role. He managed to get the ball and hurt Freo when he got it. His winning goal was a ripper![2.5] Ed Curnow: Ed Curnow had a huge number of clearances and allowed us to win around the ball.[2] Sam Walsh: What can you say about a lad who just keeps getting the ball?[1.5] Sam Petrevski-Seton: Still not as consistent as I would like, but his skills in the conditions were excellent and some of things he did were magical.[1.5] Matthew Kreuzer: Not as dominant as the commentators might have suggested, but his ability to come back allow our guys 1st access was crucial.[1] Nick Newman: But for a few ordinary disposals, Newman had a great game.[1] Lochie Plowman: Plowman has had an ordinary to poor year, but he really stood up in the conditions. Probably his best game for the year and the sort of thing we saw back in 2017.[0.5] Jack Silvagni: Not huge possessions, but some brilliant moments. He managed to control Fyffe, when Fyffe threatened to take the game by the throat. His last half was excellent in the middle of the ground.[0.5] Levi Casboult: Forward this week, but he was solid and dependable both in his marking and in his ruckwork.[0.5] Caleb Marchbank: Marchbank has also been ordinary for a lot of this year, but his form in this game showed a lot about why we wanted him. A positive forward step.[0.5] Dale Thomas: Daisy did a fine job in defence and kicking that goal was excellent. On this form he is a certainty to play on: he is delivering more to the team than any time earlier for us.[0.5] Liam Jones: Although his man got a couple, Jones did an excellent job and really gave some attacking flair to our defence. [0.5] Kade Simpson: Not brilliant, but very solid and just where we needed him when things were tight.Honourable Mentions:Lochie O’Brien: Lochie had a job and did it well while getting reasonable amounts of ball for himself. He is playing a lot harder and smarter, which he needed to do. Now he needs to work on his kicking. Will Setterfield: Not yet setting the world on fire but doing a job and improving slowly.Jacob Weitering: Not his best game, but he was really solid in defence and beat his opponents.
